FEED OUT YOTJR HOGS SIX
v ' WEEKS EARLIER.
In every lot of hogs on feed two
or three weeks quickly and ac
tually eat less than others. If
all would fatten like these, the
entire drove would be ready for
the market six weeks earlier and
to save six weeks feed is an item
that you fully understand.
The hog that fattens easily must
be in prime physical condition.
The B. A. Thomas’ Hog Powder is
a conditioner for hogs. It keeps
their system clean and healthy
andjenables them to fatten quick
ly without falling a prey to the
usual diseases of hogs. The B.
A. Thomas’ Hog Powder is not
stock food. It’s straight medi
cine and we took the agency be
cause it enables you to feed out
your hogs much earlier. For sale
by Pearson Hardware Store.

“Her voice broke!” —Harvard
Lampoon.
In London. —“Waiter! Vienna
steak, please!”
“ ’Ush, sir; we calls ’em Petro
grad patties now, sir!” —Bystander.
Detected. —“My dear, did you
make this pudding out of the cook
ery book?”
“Yes, love.”
“Well, 1 thought I tasted one of
the covers.” —Sacred Heart
Review.
Dangerous,-—"Sssh—this is a
gossipy place!”
“Sssh—why?”
Sssh even the rooms com
municate with one another!” —
Harvard Lampoon.
Think Health.
It Is not n fear of illness or of death
that wo should encourage, Imt a love
of health, a sense of responsibility for
the care of our bodies, a desire for
bodily endurance and efficiency aud
full achievement.
If the mind Is fixed on these Ideals
and the already known means of ap
proaching them are utilized the need
less miseries that embitter the lives of
so many may be left to take care of
themselves.
It Is not so much necessary to fight
disease as to cultivate health for the
happiness, contentment and moral gala
that it brings.
First Use of “Magazine.”
“Magazine,” properly a storehouse
(Arabian), bus been unnexed by litera
ture, but it is interesting to recall the
birth of its now common literary use—
In thnt venerable periodical, the Gen
tleman’s Magazine. In the introduc
tion to its number (1731) we read, “This
consideration has induced several gen
tlemen to treasure up, as In a maga
zine, the most remarkable pieces on
the subjects above mentioned.”—Lon
don Times.
Her First Journey.
Margaret, five years old, was travel
ing for the first time. She sat as If
entranced by the view from the car
window.
Her father, noticing the rapt expres
sion on her face as the train si>ed along,
said:
“What do you think of It, Margaret?”
She replied: "Oh, father. It is Just
like a picture book, only you don’t have
to turn the pages.”—Chicago News.
Dehydrating.
Dehydrating Is simply what was for
merly known as drying fruits and veg
etables. The old method of paring
and slicing apples, stringing the stfees
and hanging them up to dry, although
called drying, was really dehydrating.
—New York Sun.
Took It to Heraelf.
"She’s a vain glrL There la no mir
ror handy, so now she Is lacking at
the barometer.”
"How will the barometer cater to her
vanity?”
"It says, ’Fair.’ ’’—Louisville Courier-
Journal.
History Repeats Itself.
“Can’t say that the world ts getting
a bit smarter," asserted grandpa. "My
grandson asks me the same silly ques
tions that his father asked at his age.”
But He Did.
Teacher—Bobby, give an example of
the double negative.
Bobby—l donY know none.
Glass Gardens.
A few square feet of sunny ground
and a hotbed or cold frame, large or
smnll, will produce vegetables and
flowers weeks ahead of those who gar
den without glass. A little glass adds
a wonderful amount of Interest to the
garden and prolongs the season for
many weeks in the spring and In the
autumn. A good frame with sash will
last for years, and this Is to be con
sidered in buying good material at the
outset.
