Former Brunswickian Owes Nearly
Forty Thousand Dollars,
The Savannah News of yesterday
said:
“W. S. Branham, a Wayeross lawyer,
filed a petition for relief from his debts
in bankruptcy in the office of the clerk
of the United States District court on
yesterday. Ho has liabilities, repre
sented by unsecured claims, aggregating
$39,03155, and no assets.
“The bidders of the claims are resi
dents of a dozen cities throughout tjds
Country and some in England and Scot
land. Most of the elainiK are for bor
rowed money, which the bankrupt
seems to have been able to get, without
security and to spend without’ having
in his hands visible assets,
j “In the list, however, arc claims
for goods and merchandise pur
chased by the bankrunt, from various
parties on various occasions. One or
two of the creditors of this latter class
are residents of Savannah, but their
claims are for small amounts.”
