the present method of arbitrating city
assessments,, complaining that the
system is unjust and discriminating
and requesting immediate action in
taking steps to correct it. Referred

the Brunswick and Birmingham rail
road company, accepting ordinance
passed March Zt, 1902, as required by
Section 1. paragraph “J ’’ of said ordi

Mrs. Mamie C. Mitiehan. relative to
steam engine run by H. O. Toinas, on
property adjoining petitioner, stating
that council has Jurisdiction and sug
gesting mat the complaint be referred
to the marshal and chief of the lire
department, wk.. instructions to see
that owner of engine makes proper

RESOLUTIONS:
By Alderman McGarvey.
Whereas, practically ail of the signs
hearing the names of the streets at.
the various street intersections
. have been destroyed or defaced:
Be it resolved by the Mayor and
aldermen of the city of Brunswick,
in council duly assembled. That the
clerk of council be, and he is hereby
authorized and directed to invite and
advertise for bids for the furnishing
of as many signs as may be necessary
with the names of the va. .-streets
thereon, the number of such signs
with the names of- v. . streets
thereon to be so purchased to be de
termined by the city engineer and su
perintendent of public works, such
bids to be sca'cd and to be filed with
the clerk by the fourth Thursday of
this month.
Be it further resolved. That in the
event it be determined to purchase
such signs after such bids arc opened
and received, that the superintendent
of public works bo. amt Tic ,s hereby
authorized to employ some fit and
competent person to place such signs
at suitable and proper places at the
various sleet Intersections. Adopted.
