PETITION FOR CHARTER.
State of Georgia,
County of Glynu.
To the Superior Court of said county:
John J. Spears, Charles G. Moore
and John B. Davis, all of said
county and citizens of said state,
present this petition for incorpora
tion, and thereupon they allege and
pray:
First. Your petitioners desire that
themselves and such other persons
as may hereafter be associated with
them in that behalf and their succes
sors and assigns, he incorporated and
become a body politic under tne laws
of said state under the corporate name
for the purposes, with the power and
to le governed as hereinafter men
tioned.
Second. The name of said corpor
ation, for the charter of which this
petition is presented, to he the At
lantic Laundry, Dye & Knitting Cos.
Third, 'ihe particular business
which said corporation shan transact
under said name, and the object of
such association is: (a) To operate,
carry on and conduct for hire and
compensation arid profit a general
laundry, in the work of washing,
ironing and laundering clothing and
all other wash goods. (b)
To engage in the running and operat
ing for hire, compensation and profit,
of a knitting mill, in the manufacture
of cotton, woolen, silk and other knit
goods, and selling the product and out
put thereof in tho markets, and (c)
to carry on, also for compensation
hire and profit, the business oi a dye
house, in the work of dying and clean
ing all kinds of clothing and dry goods
with the right to petitioners, their
associates, successors and assigns, un
der such corporate name, however,
to operate during the term of their
incorporation any one, tr two, or all
of said businesses at the same time
and either separately or together, ac
cordingly as the best financial ends
of said corporation snail suggest, and
it shall seem most advantageous and
profitable to it, and with authority
further to operate any one or all of
sa,~ businesses with steam, electric
or such other power as shall be
doomed best.
Fourth. Tne capital stock of said
corporation shall be five thousand dol
lars (55,000) divided into shares of
ten dollars each, which is ready to
bo paid in immediately upon the
grant and acceptance of the charter
hereby prayed for, ami the opening
of subscription books, and the or
ganization of the company, with the
right, however, to the shareholders
at any time or times after , s organi
zation, at any regular meeting, on a
vote of three-fourths of the stork
holders, of Increasing si*h capital
stock from time to time to an amount
not exceeding, ..nally, fifty thousand
dollars ($50,000)

Eighth. Petitioners ask that said

any of its said businesses.
Ninth. The said corporation have'

conferred by the law of this state up
on all corporations, as enumerated in
section 1852 of toe present code of
this state.
Tenth. Petitioners desire that said
corporation shall have the right to
borrow money for carrying on its bus
ness, and securing loans to it by mort
gage or security deed.
Eleventh. Your petitioners desire
that they, their aesoteiates, succn*-
sors and assigns be incorporated and
have succession as a body politic un
tier said corporate name, with all the
aanl, powers, privi’lges and duties
for the term of twenty years.

The convict gang will be brought
over' from St. Simon today and sent
back to the farm in the country. The
gang lias been on St. Simon some
time.
Council Meets Tonight.
The regular seml-monthy meeting
of the pity council win he held to
night and quite a number of impor
tant matters are to lx- disposed of.

Two Thieves Arrested.
Officer Luther Lamb yesterday ar
rested Sunk l-atimore and Charley
l.ane, colored, who ae chagexl with
burglary. It is alleged that this pair
broke into the store of L. Weinstein
some time ago.
