PETITION FOR CHARTER.
STATE OF GEORGIA,
COUNTY OF GLYNN.
To the Superior Court of Said county:
The petition of E. C. Machen, Ed
win Brobdbotk Albert Fondig and E.
H. Mason, all ot said state and coun
ty. and A. B. Coley, of the state of
New York, respectfully shows:
I. That petioners desire for
themselves and such other persons as
may hereinafter be associated with
them, to be incorporated under tne
corporate name and style of "The
Brunswick and Birmingham Develop
ment Company.”
11. Thai the object of said pro
posed corporation is pecuniary gain
to its members, and its special object!?
are to buy, hold, own and improve
lands and real estate generally, anil
to sell exchange or otherwise dispose
of the same; to receive donations ol'
real estate and other property; to de
velop mineral lands; to develop town
sites and to encourage immigration
to the localities in which it may be
come interested; 10 receive donations
of and to buy, own, hold and sell
stocks and bonds and other securities
and personal property of any kind;
and generally itio do such other acts
and things as may be deemed for the
best Interests of such corporation,
which shall not conflict witn the laws
of Georgia.
111. That the principal office of
the proposed corporation shall be in
the city Oi Brunswick, in said counity
of Glynn, with the right to establish
branches or agencies a,t any other
point and in any other town, or coun
ty in Georgia or Alabama, or else
where in the United States.
IV. That the capital stock of
the proposed corporation shall be one
hundred thousumd dollars, divided in
to one thousand shares of the par
value of one hundred dollars each,
with the right, by a majority vote of
the capital stock, to Increase such
capital stock from time to time to
any sum or sums not exceeding five
hundred thousand dollars; that tney
desire the right to receive in payment
for such stock real estate or personal
property!, at a valuation to be fixed
by me board of directors.

not ha.ve the right, to begin business
until at least ten per centum of the
capital stock suescribed is puid in,
either in cash or in property.
VI. That the officers of said
corporation shall be a president, vice
president, secretary and 'tu|aasurer,
and such other officers or agents as
tne shareholders or board of direct
ors may desire or direct; that the
board of directors shall consist ot not
more than nine nor less than three
members, all ot whom shall be share
ho.uers, to be denied by the share
holders.
VII. That the shareholders shall
have the right to fix and prescribe
rules, by-laws and regulations for the
government of said corporation, or
to delegate this authority to the board
ot directors.

By virtue of an order of the Court
of Ordinary of said county., wall he
sold at public outcry, on the first Tues
day in August, next, at the court
house door in said county, between the
usual hours ot sale, the following real
estate, the property of the estate of
W. N. Satterwaite, deceased, to-wit:
1. All that portion of the tract of
lands in said county known as the
Speight and Hodker lands containing
1,210 acres, more or less, for a fuller
description whereof reference is made
to a deed to said tract made by Thom
as G. Scott and others to W. N. Sat
terthwaite on October 4th, 1808 and
recorded in Book "R. R.," page 3 of
the general records of said county and
to a survey of the same made by E. A)
Penniman, August 13th. 1897.
2. All that trace situate lying and
being in the 1,366 Dist. G. M.. said
county, containing 700 acres more or
less, for a fuller description whereof,
reference is made to a deed made bjt
M. Green to W. N. Satterthwaite anil
recorded in Book “K. K.,’’ of tlie gen
eral records of said county. .
3 All the mill timber privileges for
the unexpired term on a certain tract
of land situate and lying and being in
said county and containing 1.350 acres
more or lets and bounded north by
lands of IC. H. EPerett, east by right
of way of Southern railway, west and
south by lands known as Knabe and
Scott lands, said tract lying at the
station of Bellevista on said railway,
said privilege having been conveyed
by G. W. Wright to W. N. Satter
thwaite on January 2d, 1900.
4, The western one half of the east
ern one half of Old Town lot 3SI in
the Old Town of the city of Brunswick
in said county, according to the map
f said city made by George It. Bald
win in 1837
The saw mill with its fixtures, ap
purtenances, boilers and all houses
and outhouses located on any of the
before described property will be sold
at said sale as part of tne realty.
