tion as to the best means of promot

topic- for discussion, and those who
' spoke were enthusiastic in their views

Next Monday night a lecture by
Mr. W. E Demster will ire delivered
the subject being “The Ancient Ilis
lory of America.” The public is in
vited to Ire present, as the lecture
will doubtless prove interesting.
A Sm'all Crowd.
Owing probably to the threatening
weather only a small crov/d wont
on the “float” excursion last night
to Crispen island. The large lighter
which was to have been, used, was
not. taken along, and the crowd made
the trip on the tug.
