BROBSTON, FEMQIG & COMPANY
THE BRUNSWICK DAILY NEWS, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2. 1906.
IS DAMAGED BY
PENSACOLA GALE
PLANT OF M. A. BAKER WAS TOR J
UP BY THE RECENT STORM
IN PENSACOLA.
A letter has been received from A.
H. Baker, who formerly removed from
this city to Pensacola, Fla., where he
was in charge of the turpentine still
plant of his brother, M. A. Baker, an
nouncing that the plant had been
almost entirely wrecked by the terri
ble storm which visited Pensacola and
other gulf ports last week.
Air. Baker described the storm as
the worst he has ever heard of, and
says that the entire city was more or
less damaged. At the plant of the
local people, great damage was done
and the loss will be heavy. The build
ing occupied 'by the plant was blown
down entirely, most of the machinery,
etc., ruined, and was put out of busi
ness completely by the gale.
Air. Balter also suffered considerable
damage at his residence in Pensacola,
where the water rushed in almost up
to the floors and all of his household
goods, etc., were damaged.
Air. AI. A. Baker, of this city, has
not yet decided whether or not the
plant will be re-established in Pen
SUCOl'i.
