The following from the Atlanta
j News of yesterday will be of interest
in this city. Dr. Pratt is the father
1 of N. P. Pratt, who has recently taken
over the franchise • for the con
struction of toe system of trolley
lines in this city.
“Dr. N. A. Pratt, of Decatur, father
of Dr. N. P. and George L. TTatt, of
the Pratt Laboratory, died last night
at 6.30 o’clock at toe home of his
daughter, Mrs. J. P. Kennedy, in De
catur. as toe result of being struck
by a freight trnin 02 ths rail
rood, near the. depot in Decatur yes
terday afternoon.
“Dr. Pratt and his wife had r turn
ed on Monday from a visit to Lltliia
| Springs and he was on his way to
the depot to see about the trunks at
the time of toe accident. Two tracks
of the Georgia railroad parallel each
other In Decatur and while walking
between them Dr. Pratt was struck
from the rear by one of the Geor
gia's fast freights, the cross team
oLthe pilot striking him In the back
I&*dtrairlins him through the air al
most of twenty feet. Dr.

track, his head fracturing toe skull
and causing a hemoi rhaec at the
base of the brain.
