LARGE POLICE COURT
WITH ANDREWS AS.JUDGE.
Commissioner Andrews presided
at the police court yesterday morn
ing and the docket wai one of the
largest in several weeks. Most of
those tried were for violation of the
traffic ordinance' and while several
were fined, the majority received a
good talk and were not made to pay
for negligence in not keeping law,
but all -of these had better do so in
future as a double amount of fine is
in store for them.
ONLY TWO FIRES DURING
FIRE PREVENTION WEEK
The fire department answered two
cplis Sunday afternoon. The first
was at 6:30 p. m. and the laddies
made a quick run to the corner of
Cioucested street and Cochran avenue
'where a telephone pole, which was
ablaze, was extinguished. The next
call came at 8:15 and was at the home
of Sam Snodgrass, 2110 Davis street,
a kerosine stov e had exploded. The
damage in both flames was practical
ly nothing. Sunday was the last day
; of fire prevent week and the con
flagrations above referred to are the
only one that occurred during the en
tire fire prevention period.
