INFANT OF NICK PAPPAS
DIED YESTERDAY MORNING.
Nick Pappas’ child, about one year
old, died yesterday and will be buried
in Palmetto cemetery, Undertaker
Baldwin in charge of the funeral, and
Rev. William Johnson, of St. Mark’s
Episcopal church, will conduct the
services at 3 o’clock this afternoon.

The wrecking crew which was
dispatched to the scene of the freight
wreck on the Atlantic ’ Coast Line
near th e city,' which occurred Tues
day night, has finished the work of
clearing the right-of-way and relay
ing the torn-up track and' traffic over
the foad; has' .been resumed
FUNERAL OF MRS. O, V,
JACKSON YESTERDAY
The funeral of Mrs. O. V. Jackson
was held yesterday afternoon and
was conducted by Elder H. M. King,
of Savannah, and interment was In
Palmetto cemetery Many friends
accompanied the remains to their
last resting place and th e floral of
ferings were beautiful.

CAN’T ACCEPT INVITATION.
Chairman F. M. Scarlett, of the
Young Men’s Club, who wired Sen
ator Walter F George, extending an
invitation to visit Brunswick tomor
row, received a (Wire from him yes
today saying that it was impossible
for him to come at this time. The
invitation was expended the Senator
by the Young Meas Club, Board of
Trade and city ccamnlgalonare.

AND CONDITIONS.
Locally: Partly cloudy and cooler;
moderate variable winds. Conditions
elsewhere; Showers occurred in the
central and Western Gulf states, the
Tennessee and Ohio valleys, the lake
region and middle states and at scat
tered -stations in Florida and the Car
olinas during the last twenty-four
hours. Elsewhere fair weather con
tinued. It is cooler in the central val
leys and warmer in the eastern and
western districts.
GOING TO AUGUSTA I OR
MAN WHO DESERTED WIFE.
Lieut, will leave this
morning for Augusta where he goes,
to return with Legible Sanders,, young
white man, formerly from Lyons, who,
it is charged, abandoned his wife a
month before a child was born. A
warrant was sworn out by Mrs. San
ders, placed in Chief Register’s hands
and within a lew days he had located
the man in the Richmond county city.
MRS. WILLIAM H. HAYS
TENDERLY LAID TO REST.
Mrs. Estelle Genevieve Hays, wife
of Wiliam H. Hays, who passed away
at an early hour yesterday morning,
was held from St. Francis Xavier’s
Catholic church at 3 o’clock yester
day afternoon, conducted by Father
Petit and interment was in Palmetto
cemetery. A number of friends ac
companied the remains to their last
resting place and many beautiful flow
ers sent attested the high esteem in
which she was held by those who
knew her.
