That Alamo is looked upon as the
best town on the Seaboard railway,
between Savannah aad Americus, with
a great future, is demonstrated by the
number of people seeking residence in
the town. The population of Alamo
has increased wonderfully in the past
several months, and those that have
moved in and those that are contem

a town, the kind that any town would
feel proud of, those that add material y
to the rapid growth of a progressive
town like Alamo.
Among some of those who are con
templating moving here at an early
date, is Mr. C. E Richmond of Ameri
cus, claim agent of the Alabama
division of the Seaboard railway. He
was in town this week, and looked over
some of the property, and was very
much impressed with the town. He

Spring Hill Oyster Supper.
On account of the heavy rains, the
Spring Hill Literary Society had to
call off the oyster supper, pie sale,
entertainment, etc., on last Friday
evening, which was much disappoint-1
ing to a large number of people. But.
after it was called in, we decided to
give the people even yet a bigger time
than was expected at first.
On Friday evenmg, February 6th,
atßp. m., the same program will be
carried out, only with a few’ additions, I
which we expect to make it superior |
to what was promised on the last
meeting night. Remember the oyster I
supper, pie sale, entertainment and
lecture, and be with us as you had !
•Mann d to do
Col. C. P. Thompson will be with us I
on that night and it is not necessary
to say anything of his lectures, as
they are well known.
W. J. CHESNUT
stated to friends here that he would
probably become a citizen of Alamo in
the very near future. In the event
that Mr. R’chmond comes to Alamo, it
is his intention to buy a spacious lot
and equip a modern home. He believes
: that the prospecte for the town’s future
■ will justify equipping a home for the
permanent location of the claim agent
of as big system as the Seaboard,
Others have their eyes centered on
Alamo and it will be a continual thing

will make the town.
We need these people and they will
neod us, and so the town will have to
have them to make a town. We need
business men of all kinds, and must
■ have them. Every one added means
■ more to Alamo. They will eventually
come, but let us exert every energy to
i hasten their coning.

To Ilie Properly Owners
If you have some property for sale
at a reasonable price, I will be glad to
look it over. It is a fact I hat some ,
people have an idea that a Real Estate 1
agent can get bigger prices than they *
I can themselves. The fact is that tha ’
, real live wire Real Estate man usually
has a good list of buyers and he is
much more able to find the right man 1
for your trade than you are
I have entered into an agreement
■ with a corporation, whereby I will
have the names of buyers from all
; over the United States as well as in
Georgia; so if you really have land to
sell at reasonale prices, list it with me
' and I will get you a quick trade.
' Also, if you want to buy, let me
bear from you, as I have some real
bargains. Yours for business,
