the chronic rheumatism for the last twelve years. On
the Ist of July. 1849,1 was so bad that 1 could not turn
myself in bed, and the pain so severe that I hud not

physician prescribed the'‘Hebrew Plaster,” and it ttetcil
like a charm;'the pain left me, and I sjgpf more than
half of the night, and ltt three days I was able to rule

ing made known certain matters, contained in yonr
most invnlunble ‘Married Woman’s Private Medical
Companion.’ It hns been worth its weight in gold
to me. If I express myself rather warmly, vou will
see that 1 enn not do so too warmly, when J inform
von of the extent to which 1 have,*‘through it, been
benefited. 1 will state my nituntion when I obtained
your book through the merest curiosity I look upon
it as one of the most fortunate events of my life. 1
had been married some ten years, nnd was the father
of seven children. 1 was king struggling unceasingly,
to the end thnt 1 might gain a moderate competency,
but the results of mv utmost exertions at the end left
mo about where ! was nt the beginning of each year;
end thnt only, with tin? most stinted economy, suffi
cing with barely the ncrcssuries of life. Finally, this
constant effort wnw beginning to have its effect upon
my health: I felt lew cnpnble to endure its continu
ance, while I felt the necessity of perseverance.

imperative, in consequence of the condi
tion of my wife (with occasional intermission; ui six
years, much of the time confined to her hed, nnd of
course incapable of taking the charge and manage*

causes of which I was ignorant. Oh! what would

What would my wife hnve given to have been spared
tho long days and still longer nights prostrate on a
bed of sickness!—all of which would have been
