ANOTHER SCIENTIFIC YVONDER!
Great cute for
Dyspepsia!
Dr. J. Houghton's PEPSIN, Ike true
Digestive Fluid, or Gastric Juice,
prepared from RENNET, or
the fourth Stomach of the
Ox, after directions
oj Baron Liebig,
the great
Physiological Chemist
by J. S Uougtiton, M. D. Philadelphia.
This is trtifj a woudrful remedy for Indigestion, dys
pepsia, jauudne, liver complaint consultation, and de
hility, curinga\er nature’s own method, by natures ow n
agent, the ‘.as%ic Juice. OCT Holt” a teaspoonful of
Pepsin, infu-ed lb water, willdigestor dissolve five pouds
of roast beef in aV'Uttwo hc.urs.outof the stomach.
Pepsin is die chief element or (treat digestive princi
ple of’ tiie Gastnb juice—the solvent of tlie food, the
purifying, preserving, and stimulating agent of the stom
ach and inte?tines\ ‘t is extracted from the digestive
stomach of the 04 thus forming an artificial digestive
fluid, precisely like tfve nalurnl ga-lic juice in its chemi
cal pow ers, and furniaiing a complete and perfeot substi
tute for it. By the atilof this preparation the pains and
evils of indigestion and dyspepsia are removed, just as
they would be by a healttty stomach. It is doing wonders
for dyspeptics, curing rakes of debility, emaciation, ner
vous decline and d.speptic consumption, supiiosed to be
on the verge of the grave. The scientific u|K>rt which it is
based, is in the highest degree curious and remarkable.
EVIDENCE.
Baron Liebig, in his celebrated work on animal Chem
istry. says: ‘An artificial digutive fluid analogous to the
gastic juice, may be readily prepared from the mucous
inembrauc of the stomach of the calf in which various ar
ticles of fcoj, as meat and eggs will be softened, changed
and digested, just in the some manner os they would be
in the human stomach.’
fcT Call on the agent, and get a descriptive circular,
gratis, gtving a large amount of scientific evidence, sim
ilar to the above, together with reports of remarkable
cures, from all parts of the United States.
AS A DYSPESPIA CURER
Dr. Hughton's J’epsin has produced tlie most marvellous
effects, in curing cases of debility, emaciation, nervous
decline, and dyspeptic consumption. It is im|>oasible to
give the details of cases in the limits of this advertise
ment; but authenticated circumstance* have been given
of more than two hundred remarkable cures, in FhilaJel
filtia, Mew York and Boston alone. These were near
y all desperate cases, and the cures were not only, rapid
and wonderful, but permanent.
his a great nervous antidote, and particularly useful
for leudency to Billions disorder, liver complaint, lever
and ague or badly treated fever aad ague.fand the evil
effect* of quinine, men ury and other drugs’upon the di
gestive organs, altera long sickness. Also, for excess in
eating, and the too free use of ardent spirits. It almost
reconciles health with intempe ranee.
OLD STOM YCH COMPLAINTS.
There is no form of old stomach complaints which it
does not seem to reach and remove at one*. No matter
how bad they may be, it gives instant relief! A single
dose removes all the unpleasant symptoms; and It only
needs tob e repeated for a short time to make these good
effects p ermanent. Purity of hiood, and vigor of body
follow at once. It is particular excellent in cases of naus
ea, Vomiting, cramp*, soreness of the pit of ihc stomach,
distress after eating, low, cold state of the binod, heavi
ness, lownuss of spirits, despondency, emaciation, weak
ness, tendency to insanity , suicide, Sic.
Dr. Houghtou’s I’eptcm is prepared in powder and in fluid
frorn—and in perscription vials for the uss of Physicians.
Private circulars rur the use of Physicians, may be
obtained of Dr. Houghton or hi* Agents, describing
the whole process of preparation, and giving the authori
ties upon which the claims* of this new remedy are bas
ed. As it is not a secret rem sdy, no objection can !)•
raised against its u*a by Physicians in respectable stand
ing and regular practice. Price, One Dollar per bottle.
