Mr. K. E. Sellers, —It is front a sense of duty, as well
a s witli great pleasure, that 1 bear testimony to the vir
tue of your justly celebrated Vermifuge. 1 procured a
single bottle and gave ittothreeof inv children, who
had been ill for several weeks. The oldest was seven
years old. the next four, and the youngest eighteen
months. The first passed fifty-six vvornis, the second
forty-seven, and the third a considerable number not
distinctly recullected. Since then they have been do

Vours, respectfully, S WAKEFIELD.

Mr. R. E, Sellers, —Your Vermifnge gives universal

3/r R E Sellers—Dear sir: Your Vermifuge pr<duces
such wonderful results, that / think it worth while to
give yon a few facts about iL A neighbor, Dr Gray,
bought from ine one vial of it, and gave the contents to
threcof his children ; the first passed 180, the second
153, and the third 70, making 403 worms discharged
by using one vial. Mr Gray immediately bought lour
vials more. 31 r. J 31’Shurley also gave the contents
of one vial to three of his children, which brought
from the first 73, from the second 54, and from the third
3J, making 156 worms by the use of one vial. I gave
my own child, aged one year, two teaspoortfuls, which
expelled 14, tine of which was at least one fool long.—
Your Vermifuge is considered the best that has evet
been brought to our section of country, and so far as I
know, has never failed.
Yours, respectfully, J L TRUMAN.
Let Physicians Speak.
Sellers’ Vermifuge is the best in use. —
Here is proof.
Lick.ng Station, Ky, Dec. 17,1815.
M rR E Sellers, — 1 have the pleasure to inform you

found it far supperior in every respect, and can say with
out the fear of contradiction, that your Vermifuge pos

dially recommend it to the attention of the public. •
w ill state a case where I gave one vial of your Vermi”

mere skeleton. In 36 hours after I gave the Vernwluge
the enormous quantity of upwards of six hundred worms
were passed. The child that was given up for lost, ir

ANOTHER SCIENTIFIC WONDER!
Great cuie for
Dyspepsia!
Dr. J. Houghton's PEPSIN, the true
Digestive Fluid, or Gastric Juice,
prepared from RENNET, or
the fourth Stomach of the
Ox, after directions
of Baron Liebig,
the great
Physiological Chemist
by J. S. Houghton, M. D. Philadelphia.
This is truly a wondrful remedy for Indigestion, dys
pepsia, jaundice, liver complaint, constipation, and de
bility, curing after nature’s own method, by natures own
agent, the Gastric Juice. Half a teaspoonful of
Pepsin, infusedHn water, willdigestor dissolve five pouds
of roast beef in about two hours, out of the stoqiach.
Pepsin is the chief element or great digestive princi
ple of the Gastric juice—the solvent of the food, the
purifying, preserving, and stimulating agent of the stom
ach and intestines. It. is extracted from the digestive
stomach of the Ox, thus forming an artificial digestive
fluid, precisely like the natural gastic juice in its chemi
cal powers, and furnishing a complete and perfect substi
tute for it. By the aid of this preparation the pains and
evils of indigestion and dyspepsia are removed, just as
they would be by a healthy stomach. It is wonders
for dyspeptics, curing cases of debility, emaciation, ner
vous decline and dyspeptic consumption, Supposed to be
on the verge ofthe grave. The scientific upon which it is
bused, is in the highest degree curious and remarkable.
SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE.
Baron Liebig, in his celebrated work on animal Chem
istry, says: ‘An artificial digestive fluid analogous to the
gastic juice, may he readily prepared from the mucous
membrane ofthe stomach of tlie calf in which various ar
ticles of food, as meat aud eggs will be softened, changed
and digested, just in the some manner as they would be
in the human stomach.’
DCr Call on the agent, and get a descriptive circular,
gratis, giving a large amount of scientific evidence, sim
ilar to the above, togethei with reports of remarkable
cures, from all parts of the United States.
AS A DYSPESPIA CURER
Dr. Hugh ton'B Pepsin has produced the most marvellous
efleets, in curing cases of debility, emaciation, nervous
decline, and dyspeptic consumption. It is impossible to
give the details of cases in the limits of this advertise
ment; but authenticated circumstances have been given
of more than two hundred remarkable cures, in Philadel
phia, .New York and Boston alone. These were near
ly all desperate rases, and the cures were notonly rapid
and wonderful, but permanent.
It is a great nervous antidote, and particularly useful
for tendency to Billious disorder, liver complaint, lever
and ague or badly treated fever aad ague, and the. evil
effects of quinine, men ury and other drugs upon the di
gestive organs, afteralong sickness. Also, for excess in
eating, and the too free use of ardent spirits. It almost
reconciles health with intemperance.
Dr. Houghton’s Pepsin is prepared in powderand in fluid
from^—and in perscription vials for the use of Physicians.
Private circularstfor the use of Physicians, may be
obtained of Dr. IJoughton or his Agents, describing
the whole process of preparation, and giving the authori
ties upon which the claimes of this new remedy are bas
ed. As it is not a secret remedy, no objection can be
raised against its use by Physicians in respectable stand
ing and regular practice. Price, One Dollar per bottle.
Observe ‘I bis!—Every bottle of the genuine Pep
sin bears the written signature of J. IS. Houghton, .. IJ.,

A remarkable case of Rheumatism and
Fits cured in 3 weeks;
Ball Hill Muscogee Cos. Jan 25, 1352.
Mr. Editor: Sir permit me to commu
nicate to the Afflicted tlnough the columns
of your valuable paper the follow ing (acts.
About three months ago my Son Shepherd
aged 22 years was attacked with acute
Rheumatism in both of his knees which was
so severe that it soon effected his whole sys
tem, and seemed to locate principally, on his
Brain Lungs and heart. The 4th day after
he was .attacked he commenced having hard
Fits. I immediately called in an eminent
Physician, who treated his case three weeks.
But without benefit, I then called iu two
more Physicians of the same order (Old
School) one of whom treated his case two
weeks, still he grew wotse, and had from
two lo three fits nearly every night. The
Doctors said that his condition was strange
and eutical, and they seemed to be at a loss
to know what to do for hint, as the remedies
they prescribed, had no effect towards teliev..
ing him. And all who saw my Son thought
that he would r be certain lo die. But just
as I was about to relax all efforts of having
anything more done for him, some person
sent me one of Dr. Rowland’s Circulars, I
examined it and saw that the certificates
were from reliable sources; and 1 resolved
to haul Shepherd to Dr. R. When we ar
rived at the Doctor’s he was just alive and
it was all that could be said, for he was re
duced so much that he could be compared to
nothing but, a living skeleton to tse the
phrase, and at all times he suffered with the
most violent excruciating pains, his mind was
very much effected also. The second day
after Dr. R. Commenced treating his case*
he sloped having fils, and the fifth day his
pains subsided in a great degree, I then
left him under cate of Dr. R. and returned
lionie, related to my neighbors the extraor
dinary relief mv Shn experienced in so short
a time, many seemed to doubt, and all were
perfectly astonished. He remained at the
Doctors 3 weeks, and it a fiords me pleasure
to say that 1 believe he ha effected a perma
nent cure, as Shepherd has had no Symptoms,
of a relapse in any way for several weeks’
It is my wish that the above statement be
published so that others laboring under such
and siniiliar diseases may be benefited also.
Yours 6cc. ELIJAH PADGETT.
We the undersigned neighbots to Elijah
Padgett certify that his statements relative
to the miraculous cure effected on bis Son-
Shepherd are correct.

Da. Rowland, Sir: l present you the
following certificate which I hope you will
have published, so that others laboring un
der such diseases may be benefitted also.
About two years ago, one of my servants
(Henry), was severely attacked with spit
ting and vomiting of blood, attended with
bard fits which he hud paroxysms of weekly.
I immediately placed him under the treat
ment of the most eminent Physicians ot the
old school in ibis section and after treating
his case a long time, they said he could not
be cured, and was beyond the reach of med
icine. Henry grew worse and had from one
to two hard fils a week. (Spit and vomited
up large quantities of blood. As I consider
ed his case perfectly hopeless for a time, l
had nothing done for him. Henring that
you would take patients a libeled with chronic
diseases on conditions, l resolved to give
you a trial, and to the astonishment of my
self and many others, in three weeks alter
1 placed Henry under your treatment, lie re
turned home entirely cured of his dismissing
diseases ; he has been well 3 months and
can do as much bard laborious work as be
ever could. YVlten I sent Henry to you, I
would have taken a mere trifle lor him, now
I consider that lie is worth S9OO. Persons
afflicted with such or similar diseases, would
do well to give you a trial.
Yours &c., YVM. FAULK.
N. B. Henry is still well, 22 (Sept. 1851-
Mr. Faulk is a gentleman of unimpeach
