Ladd— Dear Sib : Please ship me at Decatur, Georgia, twenty tons of your Alka line Fertilizer. I have tned it throughly this season, side by side with all of the best brands of Fertilizers sold in the market, on corn, cot ton, oats and wheat, and I have no hesitation in stating that it has paid me a double per centage over all. Send me five tons at once for my wheat. Very respectfully, B. A. ALSTON. Atlanta, Ga., October 5, 1874. Mr. A. C. Ladd, Atlanta, Ga Dear Sib : It affords me pleasure to give you the result of ex periments which I made this season with Ladd's Alkaline Fertilizer. I put 200 lbs. per acre as a top dressing on my wheat in March last. It made 121 bushels per acre on land that would not have made more than 6to 8 bushels at best. I left from 3to 5 bushels per acre, having anew reaper that I did not un derstand working well, and the land being rough. I have since cut off from that land from 2,000 to 3,000 lbs. of the best crab grass that I ever Baw, which I attribute to the use of your Fertilizer. My neighbors around me used other guanos three times as costly as mine, hut did not make as much wheat, and failed on the grass crops. I have tried it on about 1,500 fruit troos. A good many were dying, but now they look healthy; it killed all the insects and they are doing well. Mv grapevines done splendid. T am satisfied it is exactly what we need in Georgia. I have not yet gathered all my cotton. When Idoso I will give you results. I will say this much, it is flattering. My corn crop is splendid ; better than any I ever saw grow in DeKalb coun ty, according to the land. Knight, Agent Bradley's Patent Enamel Paint— . Dear Sir: I desire to express to you my great satisfaction with the Liquid Enamel Paint, (Bradley’s Patent) purchased from you last Spriug. It spreads even and smooth, and leaves a fine glossy surface, and with the colors used has really given a wonderful change to the appearance of my dwelling It is more economical than the paints made of lead and linseed oil, and being already mixed is much safer in the hands of such painters as we have in the country. Indeed, I feel warranted in saying that it has all the excellent qualities you claim for it, and I be glad to see it introduced into general use. Very respectfully yours, EOBEKr HESILK. New Orleans, January 26,1874. C. P. Knioht, Esq., No. 93 West Lombard Street., Baltimore— Dear Sir ■ It affordß me much pleasure to advise you how well satisfied I am with Bradley s Pa tent Enamel Taint. Ihav e used all I bought of you in painting a large cottage (new) at Ocean Springs Miss, and have found it to cover and work so admirably, and very far superior to ordi nary metal paints and colors, not subject to fade, besides being decidedly cheaper. It is my pur pose to send you another order lor more soon. Yours respectfully, R. W. KAYNR, a Of Bartlett & Bayne, 48 Carondelet Street. From J. IF. Clark, Carpenter and Builder, Sioectwater, East Tennessee. Sweetwater, September 26, 1874. Dear Sir : Your’s of a recent date is to hand, making inquiry in regard to the merits of the Liquid Enamel. Pajnt (Bradley’s Patent.) I have been using it for eigthteen (18) months or two (2) years as you are aware, for myself, and ordered a great deal for others, and it gives general satisfaction. I think in point of durability and economy, it is much preferable to the old way of painting. It is certainly much more convenient. Yours truly, J. W. CLAKK, Builder. Gastonia, N. C., October 12, 1874. Mr. C. P. Knight, Baltimore, Md., Sole Agent for Bradley’s Patent Enamel Faint— Dear Sir ■ After a fair trial with your paint, I would unhesitatingly say that, after fifteen years experience with other paints, vour’s is the best that I have over used. I have been using No. 32 in priming and painting window sash. I find that it dries quickly, and loaves a smooth, enamel like surface that uo other paint does. It is like good ink compared with bad. Your paint flows so freely that an inexperienced hand can spread it without daubing. I hope to be able soon to send to you for a lot of your paint for house painting. I am, very truly, yours, MARTIN From William Ayers, Sr., Danville, Virginia. Danville, September 26, 1874. C. P. Knight, Esq., Baltimore— . . . , T ANARUS, , , , . JL_ Ashlyns, Baltimore County, Md. , May 27, 1872. ■ Mr. C. P. Knight: At the recommendation of a friend, I was induced to apply your “Bradley’s” l’aint to my house. Yourß respectfully, JOHN WETHERED W To The Public. —lt affords me much pleas:,,to state that in July, 1871. Front Street was painted inside and out with “Bradley’s Patent Spaniel Paint,” for which C. P. Knight, West Lombard street, is Agent, and to testify to its sup&iigrity over any and all other similar uses. In no private dwelling can paint possibly tbe very seveLfAi*i4aM dergoes at this establishment, where, during our daily cleaning, soap auilsoda plied to it, and yet it appears as sound and fresh as when first put on. Of the numerous tageß it possesses over other paints, I will only mention its being mixed and ready for use in quan tities to suit purchasers ; its quickly drying properties, which saves much time iu the execution of v work where paint is needed, and its very perceptible tenacity, which imparts beauty and durabi'ity to the objects on which it is used. As such I most earnestly recommend it to the merchants and tradesmen of our city, believiug it will give them greater satisfaction than they can possibly antic ipate. WM. E.
