at Stone Mountain. Frank is one of
Thomson’s most intelligent young men

county, hut now engaged in the saw
mill business iu Emanuel county was
iu Thomson Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Nick Ivey and their two
little daughters Alma and llebie spent
Friday of last week iu our town the
guest of Rev. and Mrs. G. W. Garner.
Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Willingham,
Misses Willingham and Faucctt and
Messrs. Culpepper, Dennis and Faucctt
all from Augusta spent Sunday with
relatives and friends in Thomson.
Grand Jury Presentments.
Elsewhere in this issue of the Prog
ress we publish the presentments of
the grand jury. This was one of the
best grand juries that ever assembled
in the county and we congratulate our
people upon haviug such a body of cit
izens to look nfter their welfare aud we
congratulate the jury upon their pre
sentments.
Our people are under lasting grati
tude to the grand jury for taking up
the depot question, for we have the
poorest depot accommodation of any
town in Georgia of the same size of
Thomson, we are like the grand jury
tired of being treated iu this manner
by the Georgia railroad aud we stand
ready to help carry this question to the
railroad commission if necessary.
we are sick and tired of our country
friends and citizens coming here and
freezing at night waiting for trains
without tire.
we believe in treating railroads right
and we believe in their treating the
people right.
It is said that Mr. J. E. wilkerson
made au excellent foreman of the grand
jury-

ville was cut one day this week and
several of our people went down to try

for Thomson and it would immortalize

The Young People’s Missinary
Society of the Methodist church met
last Monday night at the home of Col.
P. IL Johnsou with quite an encourag
ing attendance.

We believe that a majority of the peo
ple will be highly in favor of calliug an
election to settle this question.
It is said that The Southern Cotton
Oil Company are going to erect an oil
mill and guano factory here. Nothing
would benefit the town more than
electric lights and Waterworks.
