MILITARY SCHOOL AT GAINES
VILLE.
Atlanta, Ga., Sept. 20.—Riverside
Military Academy, designated by the
War Department as an “Honor
School” of the United States and the
only “Honor School” in the South
among the military schools between
Virginia and New Mexico, has open
ed its Fall session with the largest
attendance in the history of the Aca
demy, according to reports received
here from Gainesville.
Improvements and additions costing
approximately $60,000, which have
followed the designation by the War
Department, have been practically
completed. The improvements in
clude a new chapel, a large new gym
nasium with swimming pool, new
domitory accomodations and a new
dining room. Twenty-five acres of
ground purchased by the college au
thorities recently has been added to
the college campus.
The interest which the War Depart
ment has taken in the Georgia insti
tution has attracted national atten
tion and educators say the noted
prep school will prove a big asset
to Georgia and the South.

UNDERWOOD BOOM HEARD IN
GEORGIA.
Atlanta, Ga., Sept. 20.—The Under
wood boom in Georgia has been given
fresh impetus by the receipt of thous
ands of Underwood pamphlets, filled
with endorsements v by prominent
Alabamians and hundreds of news
papers throughout the country. Gov
ernor Wm. W. Brandon, of Alabama,
honorary chairman, heads the com
mittee which distributed the pam
phlets.
Extracts from recent editorials ap
pearing in various newspapers pub
lished outside the southern states,
which appear in the pamphlet, show
a strong sentiment for Underwood in
every section of the United States.
The belief is expressed in Atlanta
that Georgia will send a delegation
to the national democratic convention
instructed for Underwood.

^More Grip on the Road!
Buick ‘four-wheel 'Brakes
Buick four-wheel brakes give all 1924 Buick cars twice
the amount of grip on the road, thereby doubling their
braking efficiency. It is the friction or grip of the tire on
the roa^ surface that brakes or slows down the car.
Buick four-wheel brakes not only provide a greater power
to stop in case of emergency but, because of thi3 four-
wheel road grip, reduce skidding clangers to a minimum.
In turning, Buick four - wheel brake construction auto
matically releases whichever is the outside or guiding
front wheel so it is instantly responsive to the steering
mechanism.
Buick four-wheel brake construction distributes braking
friction over four drums and four wheels. This reduces
wear on brake linings and tires, thereby assuring their
longer life and greater efficiency with fewer adjustments.
Buick four-wheel brakes [on all models] together with
countless other distinctive features of the 1924 cars
further establish Buick as the Standard of Comparison.
