The farmers are busy harvesting
the crops and sowing grain for an

We are glad to report that Miss
Nancy Jones is improving after a
long spell of sickness.

ded to the enrollment of Central
school Monday morning.
Mr. Phocian Johnson and son,
Lester, made a business trip to
Thomson Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Hardaway spent
Sunday in Boneville as the guests of
Mrs. W. L. Farr.
The people in this community
should leave their dogs at home when
they go visiting or to preaching.

BOLL WEEVIL MEETING
BEEN POSTPONED.

Atlanta, Ga., Oct. 4.—The National
Boll Weevil Menace Convention
which was scheduled to be held in
New Orleans October 16th and 17th
has been postponed until Octobe
25th and 26th, according to advices
received here- by Governor M. B.
Wellborn, of the Federal Reserve
Bank of Atlanta, which is taking an
active interest in the forthcoming
meeting.
The postponement it is stated, was
made necessary owing to conflict with
a meeting of State Governors and at
the special' request of U. S. Senator
Jos. E. Randell and Hon. John M.
Parker, of Louisiana, whose previous
engagements prevented their parti
cipation in the meeting on the orig
inal dates announced.
The New Orleans convention will
be held under the auspices of the
Louisiana Bankers Association and
bankers throughout the entire cotton
belt are cooperating in making the |,
big meeting a success. Governor i
Wellborn, of the Federal Reserve |
Bank of Atlanta, embracing the j
states of Georgia, Alabama, Florida,
Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana, !
which comprise the sixth federal dis
trict, has issued ’a statement, urging
all bankers who can possibly do so to
attend the convention.
