The Secret Of Success
»
The secret of success is hard work and
clear thinking. The industrious person
earns more than his necessary expenses,
and the thinking person saves this surplus
and deposits it in a GOOD STRONG BANK.
It is never too soon to begin saving. Get the
habit of saving. The sooner you start the
greater will be your success.
Financial success is simply a matter of
sticking to your saving habit—making your
character stronger than any temptation to
spend. Nobody saves much at a time. Ev
erybody can save a little at a time.
Try the saving habit and see how fast
the small change will grow into dollars, and
the dollars into tens and hundreds.
We invite you to start an account with
us. It will be appreciated, whether large or
small. We will give you Safety and Service.

Severe Pains in Side
I
HAD had quite a bad
spell and siokness,”
writes Mrs. Emma
Patrick, of Caney, Ky.,
“and it was an effort for
me to go about my home.
I had a very severe pain
in my left side that almost
took my breath at times.
I lost my appetite. I grew
thin, pale and lifeless. I
fell off tiil I only weighed
about 115 pounds.
“Cardiff was recom
mended to me and b> the
time I had taken one bot
tle I saw it was what I
needed. I ate more and
rested better. I kept tak
ing it and my skin and
flesh took on a more
healthy color. I felt
stronger and, as the nerv
ousness left me, the pain
in my side was less severe.
After taking nine bottles,
I eat anything, go any
where and feel fine. I
weigh 160 pounds and am
well. I feel that I owe it
all to haying used Cardui.”
Pain, in certain p^rts of
the body, is a sure indica
tion of female compli
cations. The treatment
needed is not the use of
narcotic drugs, but—

GIPSY SMITH WORKERS VISIT
THOMSON.
A team of Gipsy Smith Club mem
bers from Augusta visited Thomson
Sunday and held services at both
churches Sunday afternoon at 3:30.
These workers are from all denomi
nations of Protestant churches and
are visiting different sections of this
territory with the view of inspiring
men in Christian work. They are
all laymen, though among them are
some very good preachers, or speak
er’s. They are in a position to speak
from the layman angle of religion and
quite often carry conviction where the
minister might fail.
Both meetings here Sunday after
noon were rather largely attended by
men, and the talks were enjoyed by
those present.
KEEP YOUNG
People with bad backs and weak
kidneys are apt to feel old at sixty.
Many old folks say Doan’s Pills help
them keep young. Here’s a Thom
son case:
J. P. Collins, 401 Railroad St.,
says: “I had an attack of kidney
trouble. 1 had pains through my
back and when I got down, I could
hardly get up again, I was so sore
and lame. My kidneys were not act
ing right either. I used Doan’s Pills
and got relief. I felt alright again.”
The above statement was given
March 19, 1918, and on February
16, 1923, Mr. Collins said: “I have
not had any return of kidney trou
ble since Doan’s Pills cured me. I
am glad to confirm my previous
statement.”
Price 60c, at all dealers. Don’t
