What Campaign Cost
Candidates.
U is said that Hon. Joseph M.
Brown spent about $15,000 in his
campaign for governor, this sum
representing the amount he per
sonly placed in the campaign fund,
Relatives and friends, it is said,
contributed about $7,000. Mr.
Brown stated some time ago that
his sister, Mrs. Connally, give
him $1,000 _ for his campaign,
while a cousin gave $500. This
money was spent in newspaper
advertising, printing liteature,
clerical help,.postage, rent for
headquarters and similar
mate expenses. Nothing is known
