Wonder if W. Yaucy is kin to
Carter's Little Liver Pills?—Ex¬

Genealogists are undecided
whether W. Yaucy is kin to the

If he is related to the oat Carter,
it is feared that he may be drown¬

showing he will make in getting

And then some odo should give
him some of the little liver pills

Voting on Cows Today.
An election is being held at the
council chamber today to deter¬
mine whether the ordinance re¬
cently offered by Council men H.
B. Tucker shall go into effect. If
the election carries, the ordinance
will go into effect within 30 days.
The election is being held un¬
der the direction of Justice Z. II.
Jones. Considerable interest is
being manifested, and the indi¬
cations at the time we go to press
are that the ordinauce will be
voted down. A number of those
who are voting against the ordi¬
nance say that they will favor an
ordinance which will provide that
the cows shall be kept off thn
streets of the entire town. The
present ordinance permits them
to run at large during the day
except within the business dis¬
trict, but prohibits their being ar
targe anywhere within the city at
night.
LATER.
The vote has been counted out
and is as follows:
For cows 113 .
Against cows 53 .

Woes ef the Amateur Gardener.
An enthusiastic amateur flower gar¬
dener of my acquaintance suffered se¬
verely from the nocturnal ravages of
his neighbors’ cats. A local oracle ad¬
vised the planting of valerian all round
the flower borders. Every cat and rat
in the neighborhood flocked to his gar¬
den to revel and fight in the scent of
its favorite perfume. The local ora¬
cle supplied the valerian plants!—
