Rules for Holding City
Primary Election.
Pelham, Ga.. Novembers, 1908.
—The Executive Committee of
the town of Pelham met Novem¬
ber 4, 1908, for the purpose ol
calling a white primary election
to nominate a mayor and six
councilmen for the ensuing year
The following members were
present: W. R. Blasingame, C.
V. James and H. B. Tucker, and
the following resolutions were
passed:

on Tuesday, December 15, 1908,
for the nomination of candi¬
dates—one mayor and six council
men—for the town of Pelham for
the ensuing year.
2d. That such primary election
be held under and according to
the laws of the State governing
primary elections and the
laws governing general elec¬
tions in the State of Georgia, and
according to the rules aud rugula
tiouB adopted by the executive
committee for holding the mu¬
nicipal primary election for said
town in December, 1907. The
candidates receiving the highest
number of voteB cast shall be de¬
clared the nominees, whether such
candidates received a majority of
the votes cast or not.
8d. That an official ballot be
prepared for use at such primary
election by the chairman of this
committee, on which names of all
candidates who have complied
with all the requirements of these
resolutions shall be printed, and
no other ballots shall be used or
counted at such primary election,
aud uo ballot Bhall be counted
that does not contain the names
of six candidates for councilmen.
4th. That all persons desiring
to become candidates at such pri¬
mary election shall, on or before
6 o’clock p. m. on Saturday De¬
cember 5, 1908, register their
names with the chairman of this
committee aud deposit with him
the following sums: Candidates
for mayor, $5 each ; candidates for
couucilrueu, $8 each.
5th. That this committee meet
at the council chamber on the
15th day of December, 1908, at 7
o’clock p. m., for the purpose
declaring the result of such pri¬
mary electioE, and for the con¬
sideration of any matter that
may be properly brought before it

6th. That the managers of said
primary election be selected
the chairman of this committee,
and that they be paid by the
chairman the same that managers
of general elections are paid.
