A Pronounced Success.
All the Features Were '
Popular.
The movement originated a few
iveeks ago by Mrs. Charles Bagg
for a bazaar for the benefit of the
librarv culminated last night in
pronounced success.
The handsome building was
beautiful in its decorations and
its attractive booths' and bazaar
features.
During the. day there were
many visitors to the fancy work
booths and practically all the
articles at these places were sold.
At uight the hall was crowded
and oysters, coffee, ice cream and
cake were served.
“Mike” and “Pat” met tlve
visitors at the door and invited
them upstairs. *

Found Unconcious by the
Roadside.
Rev. A. F. Duncan was found
lying by the road side in an ap¬
parently unconscious condition
in the eastern suburbs of Pelham
yesterday.
A negro reported the case and
Dr. J. R. Clements and Mr. D. L.
Turner went immediately to him
in their automobiles and brought
him into the city where he waB
given medical attention by Drs.
Clements and Hill. He was car¬
ried to the home of Mr. W. R
White and after several hours
was pulled through. A severe
case of indigestion had brought
on an attack of epilepsy. n
Rev. Duncan came to this city

Norton Has a Narrow
Escape.
From the Albany Herald we
learn of a narrow escape from
death experienced by Deputy Mar¬
shal Z. E. Norton on last Mon¬
day. Mr. Norton is a resident of
Pelham, and has many friends
here who are glad to know that
he escaped unhurt. The Herald
has the following to say in regard
to the incident:
Deputy Marshal Z. E Norton
had a narrow escape from an as¬
sassin’s bullet late yesterday after¬
noon. The deputy, who has been
very active in running down
moonshiners in this section, was
returning from Colquitt, in Miller
county, where he had been to
seijve some papers. He was sit¬
ting in a coach on the G. F. & A.

Miss Bessie Copeland
Married This Week.
The little town of Metcalfe was
the center of an important social
event Wednesday. The occasion
was the marriage of Rev. Reese
Griffin, of Pavo, the popular pas¬
tor of the Dixie circuit, and Miss
Bessie Copeland, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. H. C. Copeland.
The wedding was a quiet home
affair and only a few of the close
personal friends of the families
were present, but owing to the
popularity of the young couple
