DIED.
Sister Betsy lladly, a member and com
municant of the Methodist Church for sixty
seven years, died, near Anderson, Ga., Sept.
24th, at a very advanced age.
For long years she had loved and served the
Lord, and in her last and lingering illness gave
evidence of the Christian’s hope and happiness.
It was my mournful duty to visit her often dur
ing her last illness, and the happy Christian
resignation of the aged sufferer, when perfectly
conscious of her approaching dissolution, was
well calculated to impress all who saw her with
the solemn conviction that there is a God who
rules in the hearts and minds of men. She
died as she had lived—a happy Christian.

Special Notices.
The Five Dollar Sewing Machine purchased by me, January,
1860, from the Family sewing Machine Company, 80 Nassau
street, N. Y., lias been in almost constant use ever since. It
has not been out of order once. Has cost nothing for repairs,
and I find it simple and reliable in operation, and always
ready to sew. Those friends of mine who use them with the
new improvements are very much pleased. The one I have I
would not part with. Mas. Ann W. Cuthburt,

In this country, where the constitution has become
so much degenerated by a morbid or unhealthy action
of the system, Scrofula is greatly on the increase.
Many children inherit this disease from their parents,
although it may lay dormant for years, and then
break out with full vigor. Others bring on this dis
ease by being confined to an unhealthy atmosphere,
using unhealthy diet, or for the want of proper out
door exercise. Scovill’s Blood and Liver Sirup
will cleanse the blood of all its humors, excite the
secretions of the skin and kidneys, and restore the
tone of the system to health.
Dr. Mott’s Vegetable Liver Pills cure Sick
Headache, remove Costiveness, promote a healthy ac
tion of the liver, and, if used in season, will prevent
attacks of Fever. These Pills can be relied on as
being all they are recommended to be, and should bo
kept on hand by every family.
Consumption Curable.—Dr. Hall’s Balsam is bet
ter entitled to the confidence of Consumptives than
any remedy kuown ; its peculiar action on the system
excites the surprise and admiration of those who have
tried various medicines without benefit. It is well
worth a fair trial.
No Toothache Medicine over attained the popularity
that Dr. Townsley's Indian Toothache Anodyne
has. It will not only cure the toothache, swoeten the
breath, cure scurvy, canker in the mouth, and gum
boils, but nothing can be used that wiil assist children
in cuttiug teeth without pain to so good effect.
M’LANE'S VERMIFUGE IN TEXAS.
Hear what the Proprietor of the “ Star Hotel”
has to say on the wonderful effects of M’Lane’s
Vermifuge:
“ Star Hotel.” Centrevili.e, Texas.
Messrs. Fleming Bros. —I feel it my duty to
make the following statement: Several of my
children have been unwell for the last week or
two. l called at the Big Mortar” to get
some oil of VVormseed and other truck, to give
them for worms. The Druggist recommended
M’Lane’s Vermifuge, prepared by you, but
having heretofore, tried every vermifuge in my
knowledge, without advantage. 1 toid him it
was not worth while, as my children appeared
proof against them all. He said to take a bot
tle, and offered if it done no good to refund the
money. To satisfy him I done so. and theetleet
was so much better than expected that I got
another bottle, and the result was most aston
iing. Three of my children discharged a great
rnumber of the largest worms I ever saw. To
•a young man, my mail carrier, who was weak,
puny and poor as a snake, for a month or so, I
gave two doses, which brought from him at
least a pint of what is called stomach worms!
Strange as this may appear, yet it is as “ true
as preaching.” llovv the boy stood it, so long
as he did, with ten thousand “ Botts” gnawing
at his stomach, is tiie greatest wonder to me.
All these cases are now doing well. No doubt
the lives of thousands of children have been
saved by the timely use of this extraordinary
medicine. Don’t fail to give it a trial.

SEASON OF 1870~’71.
MASON & HAMLIN Cabinet OrgaDS,
Important Improvements
Patented June 21 and August 23, IS7O.
REDUCTION OF PRICES.
THE MASON & HAMLIN ORGAN CO. have the
pleasure of announcing IMPORTANT IMPROVE
MENTS in their Cabinet Organs, for which patents
were granted them in June and August last. These are
not merely meretricious attachments, but enhance the
substantial excellence of the instruments.
They are also enabled, by increased facilities for
manufacture, to make, from this date, a FURTHER
REDUCTION OF PRICES on several leading styles.
Having completed and added to their former facilities
a LARGE NEW MANUFACTORY, they hope hereafter
to supply all orders promptly.
The Cabinet Organs made by this Company are of
such universal reputation, not only throughout Amer
ica, but also in Europe, that few will need assurance of
their superiority. For years the Company have been
unable to supply the constantly increasing demand for
their instruments, being always largely behind orders,
though producing about twice the amount of work of
any other maker of instruments of the class. This ex
traordinary demand is evidence that they have been
successful in carrying into effect two rules which it is
their purpose to adhere to rigidly, so that they may be
said to be principles of their business. These are:
1. To make the very best work, anil only the best; availing
themselves of the best results of inventive genius, every im
provement, wherever effected, and every facility which high
est skill, ample experience, and liberal use of abundant
means can command.
2. To se t always at the lowest possible prices, reserving to
themselves the least remunerative profit. As cost of produc
tion is diminished, prices are reduced, and they always print
ihtir lowest prices, which are, therefore, subject to no dis
count. The extent of their business, and enormous number
of Cabinet Organs which they now have occasion to produce,
enables them to employ various machinery, and a division of
labor which would not be possible in a smaller business.
They are thus enabled to make the present reduction in
prices, and to sell their work at even less than the prices com
monly demanded for inferior instruments, and less than the
cost of production without such extraordinary facilities.
They now offer FOUR-OCTAVE CABINET ORGANS, in
quite plain cases, but equal according to their capacity
to any thing they make, for *SO each. The SAME,
DOUBLE REED, $65. FIVE-OCTAVE DOUBLE REED
ORGANS. FIVE STOPS, with Knee-Swell and Tremu
lant, in elegant case, with several of the Mason & Ham
lin improvements, *125. The same, extra, with new Vox
Humana, Automatic Swell, etc., *l6O. THE same,

of the class made, $425, etc. Many other styles in pro
portion.
A NEW ILLUSTRATED CATALOGUE, with full
information, and reduced prices, is now ready, and will

these instruments, to any one sending his address to the

CELEBRATED
LIVER PILLS,
FOR TUB CURE Cl?
Hepatitis or Liver Complaint,
DYSPEPSIA AND SICK HEADACHE.
Symptoms of a Diseased Liver.
PAIN in the right side, under the edge of
the ribs, increase on pressure; sometimes
the pain is in the left side; the patient is
rarely able to lie on the left side; sometimes
the pain is felt under the shoulder blade,
and it frequently extends to the top of the
shoulder, and is sometimes mistaken for a
rheumatism in the arm. The stomach is
affected with loss of appetite and sickness,
the bowels in general are costive, sometimes
alternative with lax; the head is troubled
with pain, accompanied with a dull, heavy
sensation in the back part. There is gene
rally a considerable loss of memory, accom
panied with a painful sensation of having
left undone something which ought to have
beer done. A slight, dry cough is some
times an attendant. The patient complains
of weariness and debility; he is easily startled,
his feet are cold or burning, and he com-
Elaino of a prickly sensation us the skin ;
is spirits are low; and although he is satis
fied that exercise would be beneficial to him,
yet he can scarcely summon up fortitude
enough to try it. In fact, he distrusts every
remedy. Several of the above symptoms
attend the disease, but cases have occurred
where few of them existed, yet examination
of the body, after death, has shown the
liver to have been extensively deranged.
AGUE AND FaVER.
Dr. M’Lane’s Liver Pills, in cases ok
Ague and Fever, when taken with Quinine,
are productive of the most happy results. No
better cathartic can be used, preparatory to,
or after taking Quinine. We would advise
