they are the best Gins with which I have anv

THE PHILOTOKEN,

FOR THE CURE OF PAINFUL AND DIS
ORDERED MENSTRUATION, A PRE
VENTIVE OF MISCARRIAGE,
AND A CERTAIN REMEDY
FOR ALLAYING SYMPA
THETIC NERVOUS
AFFECTIONS, Ac.
Much of the suffering attendant upon the lives
of females is owing to obstruction and irregular
ity of their peculiar seasons, which if not relieved i
renders them invalids for life.
Irregular Menstruation, while it is one cause of
the decline of health and beauty, is the principal
cause also of barreness. As well might vegeta
tion flourish, robe itself in bloom and bear its gol
den fruit, independent of the genial influence of
sunshine and showers, as that Woman should
wear the bloom of health and fulfil her high des
tiny, while suffering from irregularity in her sea
sons.
The merits of “The Philotoken” as a remedy
in “female complaints”- are of a nature that can
not with propriety bo set forth in an advertise
uisut. A pamphlet however accompanies each
bottle, with lull particulars, and a single trial is
warranted to prove its efficacy. Heads of fami
lies, Physicians, and Planters, who have sickly
servants, will find a remedy in the Philotoken
worthy of their attention.
Es Purchasers to avoid imposition will ob
serve that the genuine has my signature on the
outside wrapper. Price one dollar a bottle.

FOR YOUR
DISCOVERY.
I PROFESSOR WOOD'S HAIR RESTOR
ATI YE, is no doubt, the most wonderf
discovery of this age of p regt css, fcritwill restor
permanently, gray hair to its original color, cov
er the head of the bald with a most luxuriant
growth, remove at once all dandruff and itching,
cure all scrofula and other cutaneous eruptions,
such as scald head, etc. It will cure, as if by
magic, nervous or periodical headache ; make
the hair soft, glossy and wavy, and preserve the
color perfectly, and lhe hair trom falling, to ex
treme old age. '
We could give the testimony of more than one
hundred thousand to the truth of every word
we have written. See circular and the follow
ing :
The following is from a distinguished member
of the medical profession :
St. Paul, January 1, 1855.
PROFESSOR O. J. WOOD— '
DEAR SIR; Unsolicited, I send you this
certificate. After being nearly bald far a long
time, and having tried all the hair restoratives
extant, and having no faith in any, I wns induc
; ed, on hearing of yours to give it a trial. I plac
ed myself in the hands of a barber, and had my
head rubbed with a good stiff brush, and the Re
' iterative then applied and well rubbed, in till
the scalp was a glow. This I re[>eoUed every
morning, and in three weeks the ynung hair ap-
I penred, and grew radidly from August last till
: lhe present time, and is now thick, black, and
I strong—soft and pleasant to the tnuch; whereas
before, it was harsh and wiry, what little there
was of it and that little was disapsearing very
rapidly. I still use your restorative about twice
» week, and shall soon have a good and perfect
crop of hair. Now, I had read of these things
—and who has not ! but Jtave not seen hitherto
any case whore any person’s hair was re
ally benefittoll by any of the tonics, etc., of
the day : and it really give* me pleasure te re
cord the result of my experience. I have re
commended your preparation to others, and it.
already has a large and general sale throughout
the Territory. The people here knew its effects,
and have confidence in it. The supply you sent
us, as wholesale agents for the Territory, is near
ly exhausted, and daily inquiries arc made for it.
; You deserve credit for your discovery; and,l, far
i one, return you my thanks for the benefit it has
| done me, for I certainly had despaired long ago of
ever effecting any such result,
Yours, hastily,
J. W. BOND.

dox church, at Brookfield, Mass. He is a gen
tleman of considerable influence, and universally
beloved.
WM. DYER.
Brookfield, January 12, 1855.
PROFESSOR WOOD-
DEAR SIR: Having made trial of your
HAIR RESTORATIVE, it gives me pleasure to
say, that its effects have been excellent in removing
indentation, dandruff, and a constant tendency
to itching, with which I have been troubled from
my childhood; and has also restored my hair which
was becoming gray, to its original color, I have
used no other article, with anything like the
same t leasure or profit.
Yours, truly, J. K. BRAGG.
114 Market st., St, Louis, March 5, 1855.
DEAR SIR : I ant doing an extensive travel in
tlie West and Southwestern States, as general
agent for Adam-- American Liniment, and w«uld
be glad if you would favor me with a consignment
of Professor Wood’s Hair Restora
tive, as I feel assured that I can introdneo it in
many places where it is not known, as my head
is a living testimony of its valuable property, in re
storing the hair to its natural color. I am forty
years old, and my hair was almost white; but after
using three half pint battles, my hair is as beauti
ful auburn as it was at sixteen, and much improv
ed in appearance, and I would not be without a
bottle on hand for the price of ten. I should be
very glad to attend to any matter connected with
the liair Restorative. I have been for
fifteen years engaged in the same brsiness, and
will be glad to hear from you soon.
Very respectfully,
WM. B. BROOME.
