The Whigs are getting into a stew. Finding
that they can no longer by ‘juggling,’ up candi
dates. keep slraight, there is now before the
people-pf Randolph and Stewart counties an In
dependent Candidate, for Senate; and a truer,
worthier, better or nobler hearted man never
‘stood in shoe leather.” It is Marlin 11. Bromu,
and if he don’t do the thing ‘up brown’ there will
be disappointment in the camp. He is freeman
enough to be Independent. This is what should
be loved in him. He has a right to be a candi
date and the polls are as free to hint as any oth
er man ; and the voles will be as freely put in
for him in opposition to all cliques and caucuses.
<Io it Marlin ‘it will never do to give it up so
Mr. Brown.’ Here goes tor one Independent
gentleman ol Democratic heart and principles.—
That’s what we love best, but if we can’t gel all
