during the past week

An employee of the 4-Way
Stop Super Mart on Damascus
Road contacted the Banks County
Sheriff’s Office last week concern
ing a threat he received from a
resident who lives near the store.
The employee said a man was
placing signs which read: “4-Way
Stop Gouge Mart” around the
store.
When the store employee
removed the signs he said the man
came in the store and told him: “if
he did not leave the signs alone he
would shoot him up.”

which proved to be false.

child playing with the phone.

Stolen truck later recovered abandoned
A 1997 Dodge Ram pickup truck taken early Friday
morning from a residence on Bell Road was later found
abandoned.
Banks County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the
vehicle on West County Line Road after it had been
taken from a residence in the western part of the county.
Someone had driven the truck several miles as gasoline
has been put in it.
Sheriff Charles Chapman said investigators are
attempting to learn which station the truck was taken
to and if there is any video footage of someone putting
gas in it.

Someone made off with approxi
mately 30 cartons of cigarettes dur
ing an early morning burglary Friday
at the Otis Brown Chevron station.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. Friday,
the Banks County Sheriff’s Office
received an alarm call at the station
located at 172 Otis Brown Road.
An officer arrived within minutes
and found the front glass had been
completely shattered.
The only items discovered missing
were the cigarettes.

the past week:

Domestic-related incidents investigated
minutes. There was no evidence at
the scene of what was used to break
the glass, the sheriff said.
The station was cleared by
responding deputies as no one was
discovered in it.
