Poplar

Boyle
Congratulations to the class of
2008. The commencement cer
emony will be Friday, May 23.
We want to wish the class of
2008 great success in the years to
come. Keep up the great work.
Silver Shoals Baptist Church
honored their mothers on
Mother’s Day. The oldest moth
er was Barbara Doss; the youngest
mother was Katlin Harrison; and
the mothers with the most children
present in church were Darlene
Carver, Betty Parson and Willene
Boyle. We all had four children pres
ent. A flower was also presented to
Margaret Smith and every mother
received a rose from her child. The
cut floral arrangement was placed
in the church in memory of Edith
Campbell, and Hagan Ferguson read
a poem about his grandmother.
Silver Shoals Baptist Church will
hold VBS June 2 through June 6
from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Everyone
young and old is invited to attend.
Barbara Doss was honored on
Sunday with a birthday dinner at her
home. She was surprised by having
her children and grandchildren visit.
We want to wish her a very happy
birthday.
The community was saddened to
hear of the death J.D. Pritchett. J.D.
was a lifetime member of our com
munity. He never failed to tell me
“you know we’re cousins.” Family
was very important to him. I hope
I get this right — my great-grand
mother and his mother were sisters
and his father and my great-grand
father were first cousins. He will be
greatly missed by family, Carolyn
and Wayne Murray and Wanda and
Phil Parks and his grandchildren
and the great- grandchildren. He has
been a special friends and neighbor
to many. Our prayers are with his
family, friend and the community.
He was such a great part of many
lives.
The community was saddened on
Saturday to hear of the death of
Frances Turner. She was a great
neighbor and friend to many. She and
Mr. John were always a great part of
the community. She was a great part
of her children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren’s lives. Before
she got so sick sometimes I would see
her and she would tell me about what
the babies were doing. She will be
greatly missed by her family, friends
and the community. Remember this
family when you pray.
The community was saddened to
hear of the death of Denver White.
He was born and raised in Banks
County. Denver was a special friend
and touched many lives. I remem
ber, as a teenager, when he would
visit our home. He could not speak
or hear but could all ways make you
laugh. He will be greatly missed
by his family, brothers and sister,
extended family and host of friends.
Remember this family when you
pray.
