37 indicted on drug charges
Sheriff’s office makes 26 arrests
T hirty-seven people were
indicted last week by a
Banks County Grand Jury
on drug charges. They include:
•Daniel Thomas Day, possession
of marijuana.
•Thelma Duncan, sale of mari
juana, sale of oxycodone, possession
of marijuana with intent to distrib
ute, possession of oxycodone with
intent to distribute and possession of
marijuana.
•Bruce Lee Gossitte, sale of mari
juana, sale of oxycodone, possession

marijuana.
•Dereck Joseph Gossitte, sale of
marijuana, sale of oxycodone, pos

lion attacked while collecting
belongings from residence
A man contacted the Banks County
Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 12 saying
he was attacking while attempting
to retrieve his clothes and other pos
sessions from an East Glade Creek
Road residence.
The man said he received a call
from a woman at the residence that
he could pick up his belongings.
When he arrived he discovered the
woman in bed with another man. As
the complainant walked toward the
door to leave a third man attacked
him from behind. At this point the
woman allegedly hit the complain
ant in the nose.
As the man was still attempting
to get to his truck to leave, the man
who had jumped him from behind,
then pulled a knife on him.
No serious injuries were reported
from the incident.

•aggravated stalking at a Lewallen
Road residence.

her belongings from a Sims Harris

The Banks County Sheriff’s
Office responded to a two-vehicle
accident on Eisenhower Drive on
Aug. 17.
The accident occurred at the
intersection of Hwy. 15. The acci
dent was one of several responded
to the BCSO during the past week.

Correction
An incident report in the Aug. 14
edition of The Banks County News
stated a loud noise complaint against
Sloppy Joe’s Mudbog was reported
at 10:30 p.m. when the business was
supposed to close at 10 p.m.
The complaint was actually made
at 8:30 p.m. when the business
was supposed to close at 8 p.m.
According to the Banks County
Sheriff’s Office report, the com-
plainaint said he heard a loud
truck go through a mud pit around
8:30 p.m. after the business should
have already been closed.
