Alto maintenance shop damaged; repairs needed
BY SHARON HOGAN
The Alto City Council unanimous
ly agreed at a meeting on Aug. 12 to
spend $7,670 for work on the city’s
maintenance shop on McDaniel
Street. The shop was damaged when
the brakes failed on one of the city’s
trucks and it hit the building.
Alto Mayor Audrey Turner said the
city would be submitting an estimate
to its insurance provider for $5,408
in repairs to the building.
Bids for the repairs and some addi
tional work to repair water damage
were submitted by A & M Builders,
LLC, Alto.
Alto City Clerk Penny Rogers said
the work needs to be done as soon
as possible because city employees
have to go in the building every day
and it is not safe.
