Warrants issued for Applebees employees
Investigation shows manipulation of gift cards

An investigation by the Banks County Sher
iffs Office led to felony arrest warrants being
issued for 11 employees of the Banks Crossing
Applebee’s last week.
Sheriff Charles Chapman said the employ
ees, all of whom were waiters and waitresses,
were allegedly involved in a scam involving
gift cards. They allegedly manipulated the
cards for approximately $70,000 in a scam,
which may have been going on for up to a
year, the sheriff said.
Four employees were arrested last weekend
with two additional ones arrested Monday
morning.
Warrants are still out for four additional em
ployees.
Those arrested last weekend and charged
with felony theft by taking include:
•Sherry Lynn Bordelon, 48, 689 County
Line Road, Toccoa.
•Christina Lee Greenway, 663 Union Hill
Road, Homer.
•Cristin Marie Livingston, 25, 43 Homer
Street, Maysville.
•Meighan Leigh Phillips, 30, 2331 North
Broad Street, Commerce.
All four were booked in the Banks County
jail and have since posted bond pending an ap
pearance in Superior Court.
Arrested Monday morning were:
•Amy Michelle Keseler, 31, Toccoa.
•Scott M. McCallister, 25, Commerce.
Warrants are still outstanding for Ricky
Shane Lolds, Madelyn Shundman, Angela
Kigiah, Richard Osbum and Susan Nicole
Stapp.
The management of Applebee’s conducted
an investigation and then requested assistance
from the BCSO in the matter, Chapman said.

contacted the Banks County
Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 18
concerning an ongoing dis
pute she was having with her
aunt, who was living with her
at the residence.
The woman said she want
ed her aunt to leave. The aunt
said she needed an hour to
gather her belongings.
The woman agreed she and
her aunt could get along for
that amount of time. The re
sponding deputy said the dis
pute was verbal.
In other domestic related in
cidents during the past week,
the BCSO responded to:

Hwy. 441 South. The respond
ing deputy caught up with the
couple who had left the scene.
The couple admitted to get
ting into a loud argument but
said “all was fine now.”

Queen Road resident reports rabbit theft
A Queen Road resident said
someone stole three rabbits
from her residence last week
and said a neighbor is a pos
sible suspect.
The theft occurred Aug. 20
as three rabbits, all white with
red eyes were taken. The rab
bits were valued at $30 each.
The owner said she sus
pects her neighbor although
she can’t be sure. She said the
rabbits were there the previ
ous evening but gone the next
day.
The BCSO also responded
to the following incidents

Town of Maysville
PUBLIC NOTICE
The Town of Maysville has applied to Georgia
EPD for a stream buffer variance in Jackson
County, Georgia. The proposed project will impact
25 linear feet of buffer along an unnamed
tributary to the North Oconee River to install a
12” CMP effluent pipe from a new cascade
aeration structure to an existing headwall outlet
structure. The project is located at the Maysville
Wastewater Treatment Facility on Garnett St. in
the Town of Maysville. The Georgia
Environmental Protection division requires that a
public notice be published in the applicant’s legal
organ prior to issuance of the variance.

SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN
FOR BANKS COUNTY
The Banks County Board of Commissioners will
hold a public hearing to present a draft update to
the Solid Waste Management Plan for public
review and comment in accordance with the
Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste
Management Act. The draft plan addresses
unincorporated Banks County only and is
intended to update and replace the existing Solid
Waste Management Plan.
