THIRD GRADE CITIZENS OF MONTH
These students have been chosen by their third
grade teachers at Banks County Elementary School
for Citizen of the Month honors for the month of
August. Students include, front row, Katie Couch,
Destiney Dimas, Kenny Sanchez, Ean Hubbard and
Hunter Cochran, back row, Joe Blalock, Jeffery Ev
ans, Cody Saxon, Cameron Watkins, Kimberly Mo
lina and Katie Cape.
FOURTH GRADE
These students have been chosen by their fourth
grade teachers at Banks County Elementary School
for Citizen of the Month honors for August. Stu
dents include, bottom row, Abbie Franklin, Elise
Flanagan, Destiny Parson, Austin Montecalvo, Ty
ler Jelsone and Morgan Hanners, back row, Taylor
Parson, Abby Baird, Ollie Denton, Christopher Es-
paraza, Zitisha Faulkner and Troy Mason.
FIFTH GRADE
These students were chosen by their fifth grade
teachers as Citizens of the Month for August. Stu
dents chosen include, bottom row, Cheri Wilfawn,
Kevin Esparaza, Logan Nix, and Alban Gilstrap,

PALS in place at BCHS
Meeting to be held Sept. 30
Parents Advancing
Leopard Success, known
as “PALS,” is in place
at Banks County High
School for parents of 8th-
12th grade students.
The purpose of the pro
gram is to answer the
questions parents have
about high school, transi
tion from middle to high
school, Internet safety,
academic requirements,
teenage drug/alcohol use,
college, scholarships, lev
el of parent involvement,
upcoming mandatory test
ing (GHSGT, EOCT),
teenage sex, anger man
agement and other rel
evant issues.
Several meetings are
planned throughout the
school year. The sched
ule is as follows: Tuesday,
September 30; Tuesday,
November 18; Tuesday,
January 27; Monday,
March 30; and Tuesday,
April 28. The meetings
will be held from 6-7:30
p.m. in the BCHS cafete
ria.
The agenda for each
meeting will be as fol
lows: Supper, 30 minutes;
academic presentation/
discussion, 20 minutes;
social presentation/dis
cussion, 20 minutes; and
questions/answers/discus
sion, 20 minutes.
School personnel at
tending the meetings will
include administrators,
counselors, teachers and
the graduation coach.
Possible door prizes will
include: Gas cards, rent/
mortgage supplements,
groceries, restaurant/retail
gift cards, etc.

SPECIAL LUNCH AT BCPS
In honor of Hawaii Day at Banks County Primary
School, Debbie David and the lunchroom staff pre
pared lunch with the Hawaii theme. Students were
so eager to taste the delicious lunch which included
a tropical fruit bowl for desert.
