preparing for the

one of Atlanta's most
cherished traditions,
Atlanta Ballet's
“Nutcracker.” For
many of these chil

a dream realized
- dancing on stage
with the professional
Company of Atlanta Ballet.
Choreographed by Artistic
Director John McFall, Atlanta
Ballet's “Nutcracker,” will be
presented Dec. 5 - 28 at the
Fabulous Fox Theatre. The
production features Peter Ilyich
Tchaikovsky’s timeless score
which will be performed live
by the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra
for the opening weekend of
December 5, 6 and 7.
The endearing story of
Marya’s fantasy becomes real
as Dream Fairies dance in
snow-filled forests, her Prince
appears, the Christmas tree
grows to dizzying heights, tiny
nesting dolls flip and tumble
across the stage and the evil
Rat King explodes from a fiery
furnace in this magical spec
tacle of music and dance.
This must-see event brings
the opulence and drama of
nineteenth-century Russia to
the Fox Theatre in a spectacu
larly lavish production and is
guaranteed to be an unforget

Witness the Fox Theatre as
it’s transformed into a win
ter wonderland and snow falls
from its starry sky.
“It's an exciting time for us.
We are very proud to welcome
Belk, Inc. as a presenting
sponsor” says Barry Hughson,
Atlanta Ballet’s Executive
Director. “It is a real symbol
of the strength of the arts in
Atlanta, and I am confident
that with the support of the
overall community, we will be
able to have the orchestra back
at all of our performances in
the future.”
Atlanta Ballet has reached
an agreement with the Atlanta
Federation of Musicians for a
one-year pact to provide live
music for select performances
opened in October
with “Swan Lake,”
which featured live
music. The Spring’s
“Dracula” and world
premiere “Don
Quixote” will also
feature live music at
