21 Vi inch long, with a head
full of hair and a whole lot of
excitement! Jaden is the grand
daughter of Bradley “Papa Joe”
and Karen “Sweet Pea’’ Parson,
Gillsville, and Michael iPapai
and Brenda “Granny” Chitwood
of Lula. Jaden is the great-grand
daughter of Ruth Parson and the

Groves and the late Willie Lee
Groves of Habersham County.
Congratulations Brett and Katie!
Jaden is also my great niece.
The community was saddened
to hear of the death of the Rev.
Luther Campbell. He had lived
his life as a part of the com
munity. He was never ashamed
to tell anyone about the plan
of salvation. He always enjoyed
talk about God and how he was
ready to go home. He leaves
two sons, Randall and Charles
Campbell, three daughters, Betty
Parson, Brenda Whitfield, and
Libby Tanner, brothers, sis
ter, grandchildren great-great-
grandchildren and great-great-
grandchildren. He will be greatly
missed by his family and host
of friends. He was a member of
Silver Shoals Baptist Church.
Remember this family when you
pray.

brothers and sisters who are a
great part of our community.
When you would meet, J.L out,
he was always smiling. He was
a very sweet and happy person.
He will be greatly missed by his
family, and host of friend He
was a long time member of the
Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Remember this family when you
pray.
It was so great to read the
article on 40 years of The
Banks County News. Reading
about people like Miss Nanny
Chambers and Maggie Bruce,
who I just have great and memo
ries of. Miss Nanny was known
by every school student she was
always smiling when she would
cover stories at the school or any
event. Maggie was a teacher
in the school system and taught
music at her home for many
years. She always remembered
our birthdays. She spoke of her
neighbors and friends in the
sweetest ways each week in her
articles. Then, after she quit
writing the news, Mrs. Christine
Harris wrote about the Popular
Spring news. She carried on the
same sweet article each week
she was also a teacher and taught
music in her home for many
years. Therefore, I have had to
follow some great writers. I was
told last week that by a young
reader who was studying the his
tory and genealogies of Banks
County that the paper really has
helped him in his studies. He
said what to me could be just
“news” could later help someone
learn about his or her ancestors.
It is great to know that what I
write each week could some
day help someones
grandchildren or
great-grandchildren
connect with their
family history. He
also made me feel
good about the short
time I work as a sub
teacher in the school
system where he
was a senior. Eugene said I
would talk to the students about
life lessons. He said the one that
he remember the most was when
I told them to remember where
they came from and never let
anyone take it away from them.
This was something that helped
him during his the first year
of college. Eugene Campbell
is the young man I am talking
about. He is a college graduate
from UGA and is now working
with UGA. He is an intelligent
young man and very knowledge
able about the history of Banks
County. I really learned a lot
from him. So just remember
what you add to the news each
week is history to the future of
our county. Bank County is just
a great place to have been raised
and to five. God Bless everyone
and thank you Banks County
News for your part of history.
