Responding to a deaire uxpresacd by a

cured on the eovoral railway*, low Exour-
nion Tickets, the excursion party to leave
this elty on
THE EVENINO or THE 19TH OF JUNE.
The ronte wilt be *n interesting one.
From Atlanta via the Western and Atlan
tic road to Chattanooga; thenoe b.
Nashville, Chattanooga and St.
Bailway to St. Lonis, crossing the Mis
sissippi river at Colambaa, Ky. From
St. Louis we go by tbe St. Louis, Kansas
City and Northern road, crosaing the
great Missouri river bridge at St Charles,
and traversing a fine grain-growing and
grazing section of Missouri. At Kansaa
City, the Western terminus of this rood,
we take the Kansas City and Ooanoil
Bluffs road, passing through St. Joseph,
Missouri, and up the Missouri river val
ley in Iowa. The terminus of tbia road.
Council Bluffs, is just opposite the Mis
souri river from Omaha, which latter
place we reaeh by crossing one of the
grandest railroad bridges on the conti
nent.
At Omaha I propose for the party to
rest for a day. Excellent hotel accom
modations here will make our stay pleas,
ant, while we visit tbe smelting works,
where gold and silver may he seen pour
ing in molten streams direct from the
crucibles, and the immense machine and
oar shops of tbe Union Pacifle Railroad
Company, besides other plscss of in
terest.
From Omaha we will visit, by special
train, the most interesting object of the
excursion, the beautiful Prairie lands of
tbe Platte Valley. To one who has never
seen a western prairie eonntry, tbe land
scape along our ride now will be novel
and grand.
The country is the most beautiful that
I ever looked upon. As far as the eye
can reach on either side, on ocean-like
expanse of billowy green is interspersed
with islands of golden harvests and dark,
glittering oorn; while herds of sleek cat
tle browze upon the boundless pastures.
The lands everywhere are dork colored,
and rich beyond description. The ad
miring tourist here appreciates a ooaplet
of Pahodie:
“Rich prairies, decked with flowers of gold,
Elko suullglit oceans roll aiar."
A VISIT TO THE BID HAN.
The excursionists may stop at any
place on the road they desire. At Co.
iumbns, a beautiful little oity iu the heart
of the valley, ninety-two miles from
Omaha, conveyances will be fnrnished by
tbe citizens to take the party out to tbe
the Pawnee Indian Beservstioo, where
we will see native Indian villages, and
visit the government schools for instruct
ing the Indian children, whioh are taught
by severul Southern young ladies. The
Pawnees are a small tribe, perfectly
peaeeable, and supported by the Govern
ment. This ride of twenty-two miles
across the country ia through a magnifi
cent farming section.
The exoutBion tickets take us to Grand
Island, a oity one hundred and fifty-four
miles from Omaha, from whioh place the
party can return at pleasure. The return
tickets will be good on any train for
thirty days. A day in St. Louis will bo
one of the pleasant incidents of the re
turn.
The entire distance traveled, going and
returning, will be nearly three thousand
miles. The time from Atlanta to Omaha
is about fifty-seven hoars. Pullman pal
ace sleeping cars will run throngh, with
out’ change, from Atlanta to St. Louis,
and from St. Louis to Omaha. Excellent
eating houses are along the entire route,
but the convenient “lunch basket” affords
less expensive board on tbe route. With
this provision, the incidental expenses of
the trip will be light.
The cost of a ticket for the round trip
(from Atlanta to Grand Island, Nebraska,
aud return) will be sixty dollars, and
good for thirty days. Sleeping oar fare
will be extra.
The oust of berth to Omaha will be
about six dollars. Two occupying one
berth will reduce this expense one-half to
each.
Quite a large number of citizens of At
lanta, and merchants, farmers and pro
fessional men in other seotions of the
State are booked for the exourBion.
SALT LAKE OITI.
Several of the patty contemplate ex
tending their trip to Salt Lake Oity—314
milts further. I will furnish excursion
tickets from Grand Island aud return—
1828 miles—for one hundred dollars, to
those who may wish to visit Salt Lake.
1 he time from Grand Island to Salt Lake
is 48 hours.
DOST or THE EXCUBSION.
The trip from Atlauta to Grand Island,
Neb., and return, inoluding tickets, Bleep
ing car and hotel fare, ean be made fur
iuxide of one hundred dollars.
Parties desiring to join the excursion,
who have not already corresponded with
me, are reqnested to do so at once, and
those making application should state
whether they wiah to take sleeping car.
I would like to be notified before the 10th
of June by all wishing tickets. I will
endeavor to procure excursion tiekets to
Allauta, .to connect with tiekets from
bare, for parties that may be made up in
other cities. At tbia date, May 20tb,
over eighty applications have been made
for tickets. Prominent members of the
legal aud medical professions, and mer
chants of Allauta aud several other
oiiies, are of the party.
