Two brothers, namsd Adams, residents
of Westport, who had lired on bad terms
with each other sereral years, finally came
f to blows. Both made complaint before
a trial Joatioe, and both were oonrioted
of breaoh of the pesos. Dissatisfied
with this they appealed, and at the next
session of the Hupreme Court tbejnry
failed to agree in the case of one, bat
foand the other gailty. Judge Foster,
grieved, as a man, at the epeoleole of two
warring brothers, and humanely anxious
to atop farther litigation in the future be
tween them, called the men before him,
and talked to them in a strain of serious
but kind reproof. He briefly reriewed
their diBoulty, and showed the adsurdity
of this quarrel, and then appealed to
their self-raspeot, their relationship, and
their sense of moral responsibility, to let
this unnatural enmity go on no longer.
“M., you olalm you hare always used
