Connected with this famous water

sits on a pine plunk at the chalybeate
spring and dips up water for invalids

"wliat do you mean ?”

A couple of enterprising Dutchmen,
doing the clothing business in Atlan
ta, are interviewed by a customer in
search of a coat. The senior of the
Arm handles the new corner, and
soon finds a “first class lit.” la an

"eighteen dollars.”
“Well, sir, I like your coat very
much, but don’t like the price.”
“Well, mine front, ze price is not

The customer still complains of the
price, saying that Ufteen dollars was
too much. This was too heavy for
the dealer, so, taking his customer to
the extreme end of the store, and
drawing him into u dark corner, he
whispered in his ear:
“Mine frent, I let you have zat, coat
for twelve dollars and a half.”
“Well, sir,” said the customer, “I
like youreoatvery much, and am s_at
istied with the price, yet I would like
to know why this misterious perform
ance.”
“Veil, Mine frent, you see dot leetle
man dare? He was mine broiler. He
got ze heart disease, and so help me
gracious, if he was to here me tell you
I take twelve dollars and a half for
zat eoat, he drop dead rnit his track.”
“Thomas, why is it that your face
and hands are always so dirty?” said
one of our public school teachers, the
