city for a game today, but as this club
did not reach the city the date was bro
ken and another game with Albany has

WARPED RAILS DELAV TRAIN.
Quitman Aug. 24. —The west bound
fast mail train, due here at 1:23 o’clock,
uairowly escaped a wreck at Ousley sta-
tion. Two rails hecame badly warped
today by the excessive heat, but as the
train had not got under headway after
leaving the station, it was brought to a
standstill before reaching the bent rails
The train was delayed about three
hours.
