The profit of a gold mine depends, not on the
amount o t rock crushed under the stamps but
upon the amount of gold wh ch can be extract
ed from the rock. In a similar way the value
of food which is eaten does not depend on tbe
quantity which is Inken Into the stomach but
upon the amount of nourishment extracted
from it by the organa of nutrition and digeation
When then© orgaus arc'd ieeased they fail to ex
tract the nourishment in sufficient quantities to
supply the needs of the several organs of the
body and these organs cannot work without
nourishment. The result is heart trouble, liver
trouble and many other ailments. Dr. Pierce’s
Golden Medical Discovery, acting on every or -
an of thodigestive and nutritive system, re
oret it to health and vigor. It cures diseases
remote from the stomach through the stomach
in which they originated. Golden Medical
Discovery contains neither alcohol Jnor {nar
cotics.

Every woman fn the country
ought to know about
Mer’s Friend
Those who do know about it
wonder how thev ever got along
without it. It has robbed child
birth of its terrors for many a
young wife, -t has preserved her
girlish figure and saved her much
suffering. It is an external lini
ment and carries with it therefore,
absolutely no danger of upsetting
the system as drugs taken intern
ally are apt to do. It is to l>e
rubbed into the abdomen to soften
and strengthen tbe muscles which
are to bear the strain. This means
much less pain. It also prevents
morning sickness and all of the
other discomforts of pregnancy.
A druggist of Macon, Ga., says:
“ I have sold a large quantity of
Mother’s Friend and have never
known an instance where it has
failed to produce the good results
claimed for H.”
A prominent lady of Lam
berton, Ark., writes: “With my
first six children 1 was io labor
from 34 to 30 hours. After using
Mother's Friend, my seventh was
born in 4 hours.’’ *
