RELIIEB IHIli STORY
Otto Hinson, a Well Known White
Man in J?il Charged With
Being Party to Crime.
Otto Hinsoc, s well known man on
the Bay front is in jail uu wbat will
probably be a charge of highway
robbery and assault, aa a result of what
came near being a tragedy Friday
morning about two o’clock.
It seems that Mr. D. H. Sapp, who

get some oheoks cashed. He failed to
oaich the train to take him home and
that night engaged a well known negro
haokman named and familiary known
ab mt town as “Osoar" to take him to
iiis home. The other men, one of
wt om Mr. Sapp identifies as Hinson,
get in the back, and instead of O oar
driving out to the 15 mile poet be drove
p omisoousiy around town.
About two o’olook in the morning a
spot near the Plant System shops was
reaohed and Mr. Sapp claims that the
two men in the hack set upon him and
a f ter beating bim into unconsciousness
robbed him of $190.00 in cash and left
bu pooket book containing four twenty
dollar gold pieces on ihe ground where
it bad dropped during the souffle,
Residents near by who beard the
trouble went out later to see what it
was all about and found the pocket
book containing the SBO.OO in gold
where it had been dropped. Mr, Sapp
lay practically uncoasoious until about
day break.
In the mayor’s yesterday Hinson was
fined for disorderly oonduot and then
jailed to await development* In the
other oases that will probably be made
against him,
Tide is the first oase of the kind that
has been reported in Brunswick and
the method of the robbery was no
doubt suggested by acoounts wbiob
have recently been published in the
Savannah papers regarding the way
men have been robbed in baoks in Sa
vannah.
Hinson had been with Mr. Sapp
during the day and saw him oasb one
oheok for $150,00 and also knew that
he had other money.
Chief Burney and the police foroe are
giving their attention to the details of
the oase and will probably hare tome
