PRESBYTERIAN SYNOD
Will Meet in Valdosta Next*Week to Trans
act Important Business.
Valdosta, Ga , October 30,—The
Presbyterian synod of Georgia will
bold its annual meeting in this oity
commencing Wednesday. November 6
Afull quota of ministers and and legates
are expected. The business to come
before the meeting will make it one of
unasu&l interest. The opening session
will be held with the Presbyterian
church at 7 3j Wednesday evening
and daily thereafter until Sunday.
Rev. O. G. Carson, pastor, and the
members of the oburoh have been ac
tively at work preparing to entertain
the vltitors during tbs meting and
have met with generous response:,
from the oitlzsns of Vaidostn, irre
spective o! denomination.
A matter of interest to come before
the synod will be the advisability of
establishing a collr ge within the
bou o<s of the synod. This oity offered
the pr-rsbytery of S tvaucvh a valuable
site ard s liberal amouut of money to

grade Presbyterian college. The offer
holds good yet and the Savannah pres
bytery, at its recant meeting at Fitz
gerald, decided to turn the offer ovor
to the synod and arge a favorable die

Major J. O. Varradoe and Rev. J Y.
Fair were named as a oommittee to
present the matter to the synod. Prom
inent Presbyterians believe tha* tbe
