A Young Lady Haa a Statling Experience
Last Night,
Last night about 8 o’olock there was
quite an exciting time on Monk street
near [Ellis. Mrs. Bingsin lives near
ther and one of her daughters going
into the kitchen about that time dis
covered a negro man in the room. She
■oreamed and while the other oooopante
of the honse ran back to discover the
oanae of her alarm the negro ran oat
and under the boose.
Polioemen Gill and Berrie responded
to the alarm and searobed the premises
thoroughly. One orawled under the
house with a lantern and found tbs
track of the negro which thowed that
he made his way to the front, and it is
supposed jumped the fenoe and made
off while every one was at the rear.
Tbe offloere have a description of the
negro and hope to caloh him yet.
