Southeast Georgia Health Sys
tem is pleased to welcome radiation
oncologist Kenyon Meadows, MD.
Meadows joins fellow radiation
oncologist Bruce Tripp, MD, in prac
tice at the Health System’s Cancer
Care Center on the Brunswick Cam
pus.
Meadows, a native of Youngstown,
Ohio, graduated magna cum laude
with a Bachelor’s degree in chem
istry from Case Western Reserve
University in Cleveland, Ohio.
While at Case Western, Mead
ows, a defensive end on the football
team, was named to the 1997 GTE
Academic All American 1st Football
Team.
After completing college, Meadows
enrolled in Case Western’s School of
Medicine and received his medical
degree in 2001.
He then went on to complete an
internship in internal medicine
at Metrohealth Medical Center in
Kenyon Meadows, MD
Cleveland followed by his completion
of a residency in radiation oncology
at Shands at the University of Flor
ida in Gainesville. Most recently, he
was on the medical staff at Flowers
Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.
Radiation oncology is a medical
specialty dealing with the use of
various forms of radiation in treat
ing cancer. Meadows says he found
his specialty somewhat by accident
near the end of his third year of
medical school.
“I didn’t feel led to any particular
specialty at that point, so I went out
exploring and happened to take an
elective in radiation/oncology,” said
Meadows, who soon found helping
cancer patients was his calling. “I
was very impressed with how appre
ciative the patients were for the care
you gave them.”
Dr. Meadows, who is board certi
fied by the American Board of Radiol
ogy, belongs to the American Society
of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncol
ogy and the Radiological Society of
North America.
He has made numerous profes
sional presentations and has had
articles accepted for publication in
the Journal of Radiation Oncology
Biology and Physics and the Ameri
can Journal of Otolaryngology.
He says the move to the Golden
Isles was an easy one to make.
“My wife’s family lives in Jack
sonville and we love this area,” said
Meadows, who has two young daugh
ters, Camille, 2, and Gabrielle, 2
months, with his wife Wilnita. “The
hospital is beautiful and houses the
latest technology. And living close to
the water is a plus. I think we’ll be
at home here.”

The 2008 City of Brunswick
Christmas Parade was a fun filled
event for all who attended. Over 90
entries participated in the parade.

Ladder Truck.
Each year, a judges panel awards
trophies for First and Second Place

Business and Marching. Selecting
winners this year was especially
hard for the judges. An unprece

them to choose the winners.

Brunswick Christmas Parade are:
