All the world loves a candidate.
It is now Governor Joseph AL
Brown.
The next Solicitor General of
the Pataula circuit bids fair to be
Bdlie B Bush.
Speaker John N. Holder of the
House of Representatives will be
a candidate for congress in the
Ninth district.
At the present there are only
four candidates for the speaker
ship of the next house, the mem
bers of which have not even been
nominated.
With John M. Slaton and Joe
Hill Hall both in the race for tin
governorship and the possible en
try T. S. Felder, the office will not
go begg«-g.
Albany will have her White
Way, of course. They have away
of doing tilings in that city. A
little of the kind at spirit that lias
made Albany would work wonders
in Miller county.
Macon is making preparations
to spend ono hundred thousand
dollars to entertain the veterans
during the re-union. It goes with
out saying that the old soldiers
who attend will have the time of
tlnir lives May 6th, 7tli, and Bih.
The Taft'tcs have drawn first
blood in the prelimenary clashes
and will in all bklihood succeed in
getting their man nominated in
the Republican convention, flow
ever, in doing so they will so hope
lessly split their party organiza
tion that it will bo easy picking
for the Democrats when the final
show down comes.
Governor Woodrow Wilson is
gathering strength in his race for
the Democratic nomination every
day, Harvey and Watterson to the
contrary notwithstanding. The
men's moral courage which has
been strikingly illustrated in the
recent past has put him fiist in
the hearts of his people.
Many Georgia cities are reaping
unspeakable blessings from the
organization of local chambers of I
commerce, which are affiliated
with the State Chamber of Com
merce. An organization of this
kind to boost Colquitt and Miller
county would be very helpful.
Every business man in the town
and county would oe benefitted by
such an institution. Who will !
make the fiist move?
And now’ we learn that Con
gressman William G. Brantley is
not in the least disturbed about
the opposition that is being gene
lated against him over in the
Eleventh. They say that the
brilliant South Georgian has his
eye riveted upon the seat in the
Ssnate which is now occupied bv
one A. 0. Bacon.

What makes ti man a good hus
band is not to be too sure that be
is.
Some men can convince them
selves that the Ten Command
ments are against the law.
A girl had much rather freeze
to death than wear what her
grandmother did to keep warm.
The comfort of being entirely
bald is that you don’t have to wor
ry yourself to death over it might
get worse.
The best way for a man to be a
desirable busband for a girl is for
her mother to think that he has
some money.
