In the death of Mr Miller we
are forcibly’ reminded of the Bibli
cal paragraph. “In the midst of life
we are in death.”
Very' few in the city’ had heard
that he was ill and his many friends
(if he had an emeny we never knew
of it) were hardly prepared to
believe that Lonnie Miller who but
two or three days ago was passing
along the thoroughfares of the
city had answered the summons
of the Death Angel.
Wednesday evening about 7o’
clock Mr Miller went to his room
.ufferit g with a chill.
It was a congestive chill and at
7 o’clock Friday evening about
forty eight hours after lie was taken
Mr Miller's work on this earth
was finisned.
The deceased was thirty fiye years
of age; in size, was larger than the
ordinary man and seemed to be
enjoying good health till he was
stricken.
He was a constant member of a
Free Will Baptist church vest of
town, he was a kind eon, a iuitlifui
husband, a devoted fathei a loving
brother and a neighbor above re
proach.
Mr Miller is survived by’ a wife,
and two children, both boys, his
parents, Mr and Airs Al art Aiiller:
a brother Air Henry Aiiller, the
post master here, and two sisters
Mrs Jas. Knight of this place, and
Airs Dred Hays living not far from
here.
The death of this excellent citi
zen is greatly regretted.
His remains were interred Sat
