Mr. Editor: W hat do you thin!
of Mr. J. L. Perkins as a suitabh
candidate for the Legislature at th<
: next election. Givens your viewi
on it. We think every candidate
should be thoroughly discussed be
fore be goes before the people ss s
candidate, and I take this method ol
putting the ball in motion Z.
We think every man who offers
himself for a position of honor ox
trust, should be a representative
man. We know Joe. Perkins to be
as good a man as there is in the
county, but had rather our corres
pondents and other citizens would
discuss this subject, if they feel dis
posed, we think it rather eaily. We
will tell the people which side of the
fence we are on, when the proper
time comes, and will do all in our
power to elect the man on our side.

Star : Please call the atten
tion of the town council to the mud
hole and hog wallow on Broad street
in front of the store of 8. N. Dorsett
& Co. It emits a very effusive odor,
is an eye-sore, w geder&t' nwfsance a-nd
disgrace to the town. The attention
of the street committee, whose duty
it is to keep the streets in good order
has been repeatedly called to this
mud hole, and it still remains a
source of delight to the hogs and a
cause ot sickness to those whose bus
iness keeps them near it. Tom.
We understand that Mr. Jack
Estes, of Cobb county, who lives
near Miller’s bridge, where the acci
dent happened, was thrown from bis
horse last Tuesday and was severely
Injured. He was found in the roai
unconscious by a little girl with Lh
bands crossed nn his breast. Dr.
Murray, of Powder Spsings, was
summoned and gave hi n all. the
attention a physician could. He is
not expected to live. ; ;
J. P. Watson received one day
last week, a arge invoice < f buggies,
wagons and harness, and the remark
ably low prices at which he put
them on the market, created such a
rush, that he sold about half of them
the first three or four days. If you
want anything of the kind, now is
the time to strike him. The present
stock is almost gone, but he has an
other lot on the road, which will tee
here in a day or two.

‘ I was confined to my bed with
* rheumatism for a long time. I could
5 not move nor suffer anyone else to
’ move a limb, so great was the pain.
' I had several eminent physicians to
treat me, but I found no permanent
r relief from their efforts. I was ad T
vised at last to use'Swift’d Specific,
i which I did. After taking the third
, bottle I was able to get up by myself.
I continued to improve I gained
several pounds in five weeks, and
my general health is bettei- than it
has been for many years. If it had
not been for Swift’s Specific I verily
believe rheumatism would liave left
me a cripple for life, as my joints
"were already stiff. I feel very grata
ful for what this medicine has done
for me. I put it first and foremost
of all the bk ol purifiers before the
public.
