Danielsville man charged with
battery after restaurant incident
A Danielsville man was
charged with battery last
week after an altercation in
a local restaurant on Tuesday,
Jan. 27.
Johnny Stewart Johnson Jr.,
29, of 2333 Hwy. 98 West,
was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 3,
on one count each of simple
battery and disorderly con
duct.
According to the inci
dent report, Deputy Alan
Stratton, who was off duty at
the time, observed Johnson
“yelling profanity several
times” before drawing back
his fist to strike another man
while in the dining area of
Moore’s Wings and Things in
Danielsville.
Johnson reportedly missed
the man's face, but his elbow
struck the victim’s left cheek
and lower eye. The victim
dropped two drinks he had in
his hands and then grabbed
Johnson, saying “someone
get him, I’m not going to
hit him.” Stratton gained con
trol of Johnson and escorted
him out of the restaurant. He
informed Johnson that he
(Stratton) was a deputy and
that he would be arrested for
criminal trespass if he returned
to the premises. Johnson stat
ed that he understood and
left. Stratton then went back
inside the restaurant to speak
with the customers and make
sure everyone was OK. He
then contacted dispatch and
informed them of the criminal
trespass warning and advised
them he would secure war
rants for Johnson’s arrest.
Stratton said he did not call
for transport to the jail for
Johnson at the time of the
incident because of the num
ber of customers and children
in the restaurant.
Johnson is currently await
ing trial on eight counts of
felony dogfighting after his
arrest last July at his Hwy.
98 home following a raid of
his property where sheriff’s
deputies, Humane Society
officials and ASPCA officers
found seven pit bulls and
alleged dogfighting parapher
nalia. His arrest was the first
such case under Georgia’s
new felony dogfighting law.
A trial date has not been set.
In another arrest, a Hull
man was charged with mul
tiple drug violations after he
was pulled over by a deputy
for a window tint violation.
Scott Anthony Moore, 36,
219 Amberly Drive, was
charged with three counts of
drags to be kept in original
container, illegal possession
of a controlled substance with
intent to distribute, two counts
of illegal possession of a con
trolled substance (clonaze
pam and oxycodone), driv
ing while license withdrawn,
suspended or revoked, drag
related objects and a violation
of the window tint law.
According to the inci
dent report, Deputy Jason
Luke was on patrol in the
area of Irvin Kirk Road near
Danielsville when he spot
ted a red Ford pick up that
he could not see inside of
because of the heavy window
tint. Deputy Luke conducted

Letter to the Editor
Skinner .cont’dfrom 5A
of democracy and the rise of
socialism in America. It has
already begun, our new govern
ment intends to take from the
working people and redistribute
their hard-earned honest money
to the “have-not” people. This is
a Karl Marx plan, a communist
or socialist way of life.
The reason I call on foreign his
tory books instead of American
history books is because such
writings will not be allowed in
America by a new socialist gov
ernment.
Real Americans in secret
meetings can say “they” are not
to blame, it was the sheep fol
lowers, the politically uneducat
ed, the brainwashed class from
government schools and colleges
and the ones who know more
about celebrities than their own
government.
This can be avoided but it will
take true red blooded Americans
willing to give their own lives
to re-establish freedom and pro
tection for their own families.
This will be their families. This
will be their sacrifices for your
freedom, you, their children and
their children’s children.
I hope Americans wake up to
protect our heritage.
This is my view of the future.
Live free or die!
Sincerely,
Pappy Skinner

Winterville couple
report caijacking,
armed robbery
A Winterville couple reported a carjacking and armed rob
bery on Minish Cemetery Road Sunday evening.
According to the incident report, Deputy Gary Floyd
responded to a call at Minish Cemetery Road where he met
with the couple, who said a white male they had given a ride
to pulled a gun on them and forced them to pull over on the
shoulder of the road, where he left them, unharmed, and drove
off in their red 2000 Ford Mustang, tag number GA4WY8.
The car is valued at $15,000.
In another incident, a Comer woman and her son came to
the sheriff’s office last week to report that he had been beaten
up at the Madison County High School. According to the
incident report, the teen said that between 4 and 4:30 p.m. on
Feb. 3 he was walking across Madison Street from the high
school into the parking lot of the sports complex when three
white males approached him and “began cursing him.”
One of the subjects reportedly hit him in the face and the
other two began hitting him in the face and head. Deputy
Jeff Strickland noted that the teen had a laceration on his lip,
under his right eye, and also a large knot on his forehead. The
teen said he did not know the subjects, but that they were
traveling in a white Toyota track. The mother said she was
taking her son to Athens Regional First Care for treatment of
his injuries.
