Chairman holds ‘town hall’ meeting
Madison County Commission Chairman Anthony Dove
recently spoke to the second graders at Hull-Sanford
Elementary School. The visit followed the students’ unit
on government. The students have been studying the three
levels of government - national, state, and local. Chairman
Dove was asked to discuss the role of local government and
his role as chairman. “The students asked some very good
questions following the presentation,” teachers said.

Registration for kindergarten
students for the 2009-2010
school year will take place on
Thursday, March 19, from 8
a.m.-6 p.m. and Friday, March
20, from 8 a.m.^4- p.m. All
children who will be live years
old by Sept. 1, 2009, should
be registered at this time,
school officials said. Parents
should bring their child and
the following documentation
to the registration: the child’s
Social Security number, birth
certificate, immunization record
and proof of residency in the
school district where they are
being registered.
Parents should call the school
their child will attend to make an
appointment to register. Parents
with questions may call Carol

MCHS class of
‘99 hosting
reunion Aug. 8
The MCHS Class of '99
will hold its 10-year reunion,
Saturday, Aug. 8, at 6 p.m at
Camp Kiwanis in Danielsville.
Tickets are $35 per person.

hold barbecue,
bake sale
Madison County FFA
Alumni will have a chicken
barbecue and bake sale March
21 from 5-7 p.m. Plates
are $6 and are take out only.
Plates can be picked up at
Madison County High School
from your car, organizers said.
All proceeds benefit the local
chapter of the Future Farmers
of America. To purchase tick

Danielsville Elementary School recently honored its “Colts
of the Month” for February with a trophy. Students were
selected by their homeroom teachers based on their cour
tesy, cooperation, responsibility, respect and consideration.
Pre-K through third grade students recognized were: Myles
Cooper, Hannah Scarborough, Donnie Graham, Daniel
Miller, Chet Cross, Nina Smith, Joseph Olds, Braydon
Thurmond, Kabel Moore, Brittny Williams, Selena Smith,
Brianna Nuttall, Justin Lanier, Brooke Anglin, Mikala
Clark, Eli Code, Stormey Farist, Cameron Smith, Noah
Fowler, Halee Dove and Destiny Cassidy.

Danielsville Elementary School recently honored its “Colts
of the Month” for February with a trophy. Students were

eration. Fourth through fifth grade students recognized
were: Zach Sellers, Alyssa Stamey, Aliyah Abbs, Bryanna
Turpin, Daniel Mercado, Cassidy Adkins, Mitch McGee,
Tyler Hooper, Lexie Davis and Charlie Bolton.
