Colbert man faces
family violence charges
A Colbert man was arrested last week on family violence
charges last week after an alleged altercation with his mother.
Matthew Quinn Parham, 40, 1577 Hwy. 172, was charged
with one count of criminal trespass FVA.
According to the incident report, deputies responded to the
residence and met with a woman who said her son (Parham) got
mad and began cursing at her because she told him not to eat all
the ice cream. He then went outside and stabbed a hole in the
right rear tire of her vehicle and left with his girlfriend in a blue
Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Deputy Dennis Harbison went to look for Parham while
Deputy Michael Free remained at the residence.
After Harbison left, Free spotted Parham as he rode by the
residence and informed Deputy Harbison, who located Parham
and arrested him.
Parham was then transported to the Madison County Jail.
In another incident, a warrant has been issued for a Comer
man following an alleged domestic dispute with his girlfriend
Sunday evening.
According to the incident report, the alleged victim told deputy
Mark Jerome that she and her boyfriend, Christopher Bruner, 26,
of 25 Shannon’s Place, were sitting on the couch when they got
into a “heated discussion.’’ When they began to argue, Bruner
allegedly took his hand and shoved the victim’s head into the
couch. When she got up to go to the bedroom the offender
allegedly grabbed her laptop computer and threw it on the floor,
damaging the screen. The incident reportedly continued in the
bedroom, with Bruner shoving the victim’s head on the pillow
and punching her in the left eye. As he left the residence with his
belongings, he allegedly swung his belt hitting her in the head,
causing it to bleed.
Photos of a wound on her head and the damaged laptop were
taken, along with a statement from a witness.
In yet another incident, a family violence warrant has been
issued for a Hull woman after she allegedly struck her daughter
and her companion at their home on Reese Lane.
According to the incident report, the victims said that Kathy
Wills had shuck both of them in the face with a closed fist and
an open hand. Deputy David Kidd noted visible injuries to both.
Wills had left the scene prior to Kidd’s arrival. The victims
reported that they had been letting Wills live with them at their
