Colbert man charged with obstruction
House destroyed by fire
A Colbert man was arrested after
a scuffle with deputies at his home
on Shoal Creek Road last week.
Gary Dwight Beck, 38, 1265
Shoal Creek Road, was charged
with three counts of obstruction
of an officer, and one count each
of disorderly conduct and criminal
trespass.
According to the incident report,
Lt. Burl Johnson and Deputy
Josh Fowler went to the residence
to serve a T.RO. (Temporary
Protection Order) warrant on Beck
in order to remove him from the
residence.
As deputies explained the T.RO.
to Beck, he allegedly became
irate and said, “You might as well
take me to jail or shoot me,’’ and
flipped a chair over. When deputies
attempted to handcuff him for dis
orderly conduct, he broke away and
flipped the kitchen table over. Beck
continued to scuffle with deputies
on the floor until Lt. Johnson used
his taser on him after reportedly
warning him he would do so if he
did not comply.
Beck was taken to the Madison
County Jail.

Actions filed in Superior Court
The home of Linda Moore on Stone Stewart Road
off Hwy. 106 was destroyed by fire shortly after 9
a.m. Friday. Moore was not at home at the time of
the blaze. Hull, Neese-Sanford and Ila volunteer
fire departments battled the fire. Those wanting to
make a donation or offer assistance to Moore can
do so through Pleasant Grove Baptist Church off

Donation to sheriffs dept.
Actions filed recently in the
office of the Clerk of Superior
Court include:
•Clayton Richard Dickson, 25,
Bogart, was sentenced to one
year probation and was fined
$672 for marijuana (possession
of less than an ounce). Charges
of possession of cocaine and
possession of tools for the com
mission of a crime were dis
missed.
•Shelia Legrette Williams, 46,
Winterville, was sentenced to
one year probation and was fined
$472 for theft by shoplifting. A
charge of giving false informa
tion to officers was dismissed.
•Edgar Josue Chevez Gonzalez,
23, Athens, was sentenced to one
year probation and fined $472
for manufacture, sale or distribu
tion of illegal substances.
•Randy Edward Gierke, 45,
Athens, was sentenced to one
year probation and was fined
$270 for loitering and prowling.
•Darrel Wayne Coley, 32, was
sentenced to one year proba
tion and was fined $800 for
obstruction of officers and one
year probation for weaving over
roadway. Charges of fleeing or
attempting to elude a police offi
cer and driving while license
suspended or revoked were dis
missed.
•Terrel D. Beasley, 31,
Commerce, was sentenced to
one year probation for driv
ing while license suspended or
revoked, giving false informa
tion and open container violation
and was fined $830.
Woman reports stalking by husband
A woman reported that her husband was stalking her last
week.
According to the incident report, the Commerce woman said
that she had a T.P.O. against her husband, which had been lifted
last month. The woman said her husband met her at the Huddle
House in Danielsville where he began verbally abusing her and
“got in her face.” The woman was advised of the process of
obtaining another T.P.O. and a warrant for stalking through the
magistrate court.
In another case, a man on Hardman Road came to the sher
iff’s office to report that his
antifreeze four days earlier.
He stated that he had called
animal control four days ear
lier and had the dog treated
by a veterinarian.

Danielsville, was sentenced to
one year probation, one day of
confinement, 40 hours of com
munity service and was fined
$651 for DUI alcohol. Charges
of obstruction of an officer, strik
ing a fixed object and endanger
ing a child by driving under the
influence were dismissed.
•Christy N. Gaddis,41, Athens,
was sentenced to one year pro
bation, one day of confinement,
40 hours of community service
and a $526 fine for DUI alcohol
and one year probation for open
container violation. A charge of
Georgia Controlled Substances
Act was dismissed.
•Three temporary protec
tive orders were filed in the
office of the Clerk of Superior
Court between a convenience
store employee and a married
Danielsville couple. The wife
of the Danielsville man filed a
T.P.O. against the convenience
store employee. According to
the T.P.O. filed May 15, the wife
told the employee to stay away

Danielsville man and wife. The
employee said she had not had
a relationship with the man and
had not threatened the wife. The
other T.P.O. was filed against the
husband and says that the man
"continues to call (the employ
ee)’’ from a withheld number.
"Involved in a relation with this
person until May IT 11 , approxi
mately the time his wife found
out.” the T.P.O. stated.
